It's hard to come up with a prediction for a new season only 2 1/2 months after the previous one ended OR even before the NFL Draft/Training Camp begins since all teams makes their moves through free agency and then cutting their roster down to 53.

My early predictions is that I feel an NFC EAST team will be representing the NFC in the Super Bowl this year. Maybe the Eagles or Giants but even Dallas can make a strong push. The NFC will be fiercely competitive but I don't think pretender teams are ready in the AFC (like Houston or Kansas City) so I expect the same teams in the AFC to contend (New England, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Baltimore, N.Y Jets and S.D being the kicker.)

The teams that could surprise are Oakland, (if they can keep a head coach) or San Fran.

I don't expect predictions this early, but I wanted a place to goof on Everett and his '1st place' schedule....

Oh, and GB will NOT be in the SB....Aaron got his hardware(gifted). Just like the Mannings....

If the football season starts on time, the Week One tilt between the Ravens and Steelers looks like the best game on the board following the season opening matchup between the Packers and Saints.

And just in case the game wasn’t going to get hyped enough, Steelers linebacker Lamarr Woodley is here to help.

Asked on NFL Network if Joe Flacco would ever lead the Ravens to a championship, Woodley responded just how we would expect him.

“No, not at all because they have to go through one team — that’s the Pittsburgh Steelers in that AFC championship. So in order for them to get to the Super Bowl, they have to beat us, and we’re not gonna let that happen once we get that close. So that’s not gonna happen in this lifetime,” Woodley said as transcribed by Sean Leahy of USA Today.

For a while last year, it looked like the Ravens would get past the Steelers. But a 21-7 halftime lead in Pittsburgh imploded with three third quarter turnovers.

i came into the NFL around 1976/1977 in maitland fl. we moved from austin tx, to the orlando area. i've followed them ever since and have put up with fan-slam after fan-slam from the NFL because i loved the game so much. at work i almost always wore cowboys jerseys. for the last few years my own desire to give a fuck about it has been waning. or is that waxing? or do you wax nostaligic? am i doing that now???

anyway - i'm getting back to writing and working on my own radio site and put this up about the NFL long ago. if you have time to read it, please do.

if not, the cliff notes are pretty much "you miss 1 day of the NFL because billionaires are arguing with millionaires over money and you can go fuck yourself".

Part correct, part incorrect.

IMO, there will be a season, although played by scrubs....the real players are sitting out- my prediction.

If I hear a player or owner say one more time they are most worried about the "fans", I'm going to puke. Neither gives one drop of shit about the fans and the others trying to make a living around their overpaid asses.

That is the interesting prediction discussion for now. Season - no season. Full season-partial season. How many games? Regular players or substitutes? I have no idea, but my guess is it will get resolved about training camp time. All the overpaid vets don't want to go there anyway so this is an excuse to miss it.

Who gives a single shit? The NFL is boring as snow melting.

College football is being played, and by all accounts, they are paid just fine, thank you. At least in Columbus, Ohio and Los Angeles, California, they're paid quite nicely.

Much bigger fan of college football myself. NFL is mainly for the fun of fantasy football and naps on Sunday afternoon.

I will say...one or two live games a season, the full tailgate experience included, at Arrowhead is pretty fun. I recommend it.

Anybody see that bogus poll they did on 'Most Feared NFL Stadiums'?

Lambeau got 1st, and Hines got 2nd.....LOL. I don't know what team fears those stadiums.

All I know is NE has the best winning percentage at home since 2003, at 86%...to me, fear has nothing to do with it.

I have no problem with Lambeau and Heinz (not Hines dipshit  ) getting the top 2. l....Hell, Qwest is much more feared place to play than Gillette.

It's not all about loudness. It's all about the atmosphere. Heinz Field is FAR from the loudest stadium in the league, that open end tends to let most of the noise out but the atmosphere that packs inside the stadium is unmatched. Plus the weather elements, the condition of the field and the fans really play a part in energy. Even your boy wonder Brady said "Man, I hate this stadium. But Pittsburgh's a good team...." Hell, the stadium gets so rowed up, that the N.Y Jets actually had to practice a certain way to get them use to the crowd noise after "Renegade" played in the stadium so that they were ready for it

Gillette is a tough stadium to play in only because the Patriots were a dominant force ON THE FIELD for most of this decade. Their atmosphere or crowd rarely changes the outlook of the game but a place like Pittsburgh or Green Bay could actually change momentum.

If you come to "Hines Field" when Pitt plays N.E, you'll know what I'm talking about. 8)

I really think Seattle's Qwest is the toughest place toplay. The Hawks were average at best, yet that place is rockin loud(by far the loudest in the league)....must be the weather density...because Husky Stadium (when the Hawks played there a year, was also the loudest).

Seattle is by far and ABOVE the loudest stadium in the league. When Lynch ran that spectacular run against the Saints in the Wild Card game I could literally feel the vibration from the frenzy in that stadium through the television set. Seattle's noise is unreal, to which it's actually built that way. The fans are more on the field in a way more than any other seating arrangement around the league.

I've seen some opposing teams come into Heinz completley rattled from the energy and atmosphere alone that brews within the city. Two different things but no question Seattle is tough, alongside Arrowhead. I've always thought Arizona shined in prime-time as well.

Being a Chargers season ticket holder I can tell you from the communications from the team and league they are preparing to play with replacement players. Because of the TV contract the league gets paid the TV money regardless if games are played, but you know the networks will never let that happen. Meanwhile teams are still selling tickets and assuring fans that if the games are not played they will be given a full refund. They will not want to give that money back so replacements will be brought in and the fans shafted. Unless the owners are willing to back off their hill of less money and an 18-game schedule no agreement will be made. The players only hope to save the season is the judges.

The Bills have a pretty loyal fanbase. They are as passionate as they come but ever since those 4 Super loss's and the Music City Miracle, Buffalo is as tortured as a city like Cleveland.

Thoughts on the recent Orange County Register story mentioning the St. Louis Rams as a potential candidate for relocation to Los Angeles:

* Having Los Angeles as a potential option gives the Rams leverage with St. Louis as they seek an improved stadium situation for the long term. In response to the Register's story, the Rams told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch they remain "focused on working on a lease" with St. Louis. The Rams have not said anything that would limit their options or diminish their leverage, however.
* The leader of the Los Angeles group, Philip Anschutz, is reportedly "prepared" to acquire a majority ownership stake in a team for the purposes of bringing it to Southern California. I doubt the Rams' new majority owner, Stan Kroenke, would be looking to sell the team so shortly after buying out former majority owner Chip Rosenbloom. He could always try to move the team on his own if he could get a better stadium deal elsewhere.
* The Register's story says the Los Angeles group has "spoken" with five current NFL teams, including the Rams. Anschutz's group likely initiated the discussions with Minnesota, San Diego, Oakland, Jacksonville and the Rams. There is nothing to suggest the Rams are pursuing a move. But Kroenke has no reason to discourage Los Angeles' interest, either.
* The Rams' lease with the Edward Jones Dome gives them an out after the 2014 season. The Los Angeles group hopes to have its stadium ready for the 2016 season.
* Kroenke should be fully versed on the situation in Los Angeles. As of March 2010, the NFL lists him as part of its eight-member Los Angeles Stadium Working Group. The others: Jeffrey Lurie (chairman), Pat Bowlen, Woody Johnson, Jerry Jones, Bob McNair, Steve Ross and Steve Tisch.

These sorts of stories aren't going away until the NFL has a team in Los Angeles. The Rams will remain a perceived candidate to move there until their own stadium situation firms up. For the time being, however, nothing appears to have changed.
