The lower echleon of society at its finest

Ladies and gentlemen, your entitlement society and all the class it has bought the lower echelon of society

http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2011/04 ... g_ove.html

A local McDonald's had a hiring day and thousands of people showed up. Some kind of argument started in the parking lot, a woman became enraged, and decided to run people over with a car. Classy. Notice everyone laughing and being amused on the video while everyone else stands around and doesn't help.

Just a great snapshot of "that" culture

I'm glad you posted this. It's pretty much a typical snapshot of that particular young demographic. Uneducated, impatient, ignorant, entitled and fascinated with chaos and crime. This is the exact reason I have always had a desire to live in a predominantly white, rural environment ... and now I am.

No kidding. Listen to those animals laughing and guffawing as if they are watching some scene from Fast and the Furious and not real live people being mercilessly run over by a car.

I'll bet they're all bitching they didn't get hired now too.

Thank god I live in a predominantly white part of town. Incidentally, outside of the occasional home break-in, there is no violent crime on this side of town. Imagine that.

They'll eventually be pissed they couldn't figure out a way to sue McDonalds for allowing this to happen. Or have they?

I guess you missed the part about the people trying to help the victims, get the license plate number etc. No doubt this was wrong, but it's still wrong to assume all the people there participated. :(

Your point is valid, but I would say, judging by the video, that the majority of people didn't realize the magnitude of what was occurring/occurred and/or simply didn't care. And that's what we're talking about.

Assuming this happened in a majority white crowd, there would not have been the critical mass of ongoers treating this like a screening of a new action movie. There may have been the bystander effect where everyone just stands around thinking someone else is going to help, but these people were going far beyond that: They were taking pleasure in the ghastly sight of people getting run over by a car like rag dolls. Disgusting and completely traceable to a certain culture's values (or lack thereof).

I've been giving colored folk the benefit of the doubt for over 40 years.
All the excuses and analysis in the world doesn't measure up to a life time of witnessing these types of actions firsthand.

Well, we could get into a nobody wins argument, but I'm not into that. I do have one question for you; define "certain cultures." No question there's good, bad and stupid people all over this world.

If this was in a majority white crowd looking for a minimum wage job (the reason for the crowd). I agree they would probably stand around untill the person died with our I can't get involved attitude!! That's pretty sad too.

Well, the bystander effect tends to happen when people witness a shocking/scary/traumatic event unfold live and they are too shocked/scared to help and think someone else will anyway.

Here, far more happened: a great majority of these animals took abject pleasure in the awful scene they witnessed. That's the despicable distinction.

I just re-watched this and to me it's pretty hard to tell what's being said during the car incident. I don't hear any pleasure, more like WOW!! she just ran over them or something like that. I also see a lot of people standing around with a few actively helping the injured. I do hear laughing during the fight, kinda like you hear during any fight, black/white/male/female. How about that stupid piece of white trash down South that encouraged her daughter to fight and watched it?

My issue is just categorizing all the people that were there. You're certainly entitled to your opinion and feelings.

How is it that when I watch this video, I see people trying to stop the initial scuffle in the parking lot. Then, after this deranged kook runs down people in the parking lot, I see people immediately come to the aid of the injured. There are at least two people on the ground checking on the injured. Yes, there are a great many by-standers who clearly don't want to get involved. And of course the "cameraman" offers no aid because, well, as is all too often the case, he's too busy filming.

Hey, on second thought, you may be right. I'll tell you what, I'll fly you to Cleveland, I'll drop you in the neighborhood that that McDonald's sits in at about midnight, and you can ask some of those kind folk yourself. They'll just love to see you. You can tell me what they say when I pick you up in the morning... if you're talking at all

I spent 6 weeks in Cleveland and did walk after dark. The only problem was trying not to trip over the bums sleeping on the grates!! UGH!! But otherwise never a problem.

I have seen equally appalling behavior from white youths too. How soon we forget the girls who beat people up and video tape it so they can be famous on you tube. Those girls were white. What we are dealing with is a breakdown in society as far as empathy goes. We have more and more people looking out for #1 and acting like #2.

I can tell you I have seen my share of white trash that equals or excels the ugliness we just witnessed. We have desensitized our youth. They crave violence and want drama and attention the cell phone camera can instantly provide. We have a fight at school and the kids all trample you to see it first hand. That goes for all races.

That is such a bullshit fucking crock of shit. Not even fucking remotely true. I live 2 miles from the border of Cleveland, and I spend tons of time in Cleveland. Some of the shit that people describe on here about Cleveland is some of the biggest made up bullshit I've ever seen in my life.

Matt. Cleveland's not as dangerous as you think it is. I've been in every part of Cleveland on many occasions, including at night, and no one has ever hassled me at all in Cleveland.

Ironically, I've come closer to getting into fights in some of the nice suburbs of Cleveland, like Strongsville and Westlake.

I live currently live in rural america and I see bottom rung of society here too (mostly lazy welfare who won't get a job). I've walked in a convenience store in a suit and tie and these uneducated redneck look at me like I'm some kind of circus freak, like they've never saw a guy in suit before. They all whisper and make ignorant comments to each other too. It really pisses me off.

Cleveland proper is not that dangerous at all. But, once you go east or west of the city itself at night you're lookin for trouble. You're honestly telling me you'd take a midnight stroll on E 100+ and Euclid?

I'm not claiming that Cleveland doesn't have it's share of crime. Every major city in America has at least one neighborhood that you prefer not to be in at night if you don't have to be. I'm just sick of people that have either never been to Cleveland, or have only been here briefly, making all kinds of bullshit claims about falling over bums on the street or fearing for their lives, when that's not even close to being true.

This echelon has a majority population in the penal system and more fatherless children as well.
