Errrrrrrr, tell me why I should click a link given by a person who bases his total knowledge of the Space Program on conspiracy theories? Oh wait, did Ayn Rand send this link to you in an email? Alrighty then.

Fair question....ok, you tell me why we have never gone back. One logical, well thought out example. One that doesn't include: money, 'been there, done that', or 'I don't know' :P

Didn't we (US) "land" there a total of 6 times? I believe the Ruskies landed a few unmanned probes there too. But really, after 6 times, what is there to find/do there? You want to disqualify the reasons you mention above, but those are probably the correct reasons - What is there that is useful to us? If there is nothing deemed useful, how could it be cost effective? And though anything is possible and I guess it could all be a big hoax, I would think with modern tech and all the conspriracy theorists out there on this one, they could have debunked the tapes by now.

How many shuttle launches have there been? I bet more than 6. But there is no 'been there, done that' mentality there. Ok, we get that a shuttle can launch, and orbit the earth, and land....great. Think up a new trick.

I think the shuttle program had a lot more to do with satellite repair/maintenance and the whole international space station thing (how well man could thrive physically and mentally in space for long periods of time). Also, problably some undisclosed "star wars" program or other classified crap. At least I think that is what it became. Now they appear to have scrapped that pogram as well for not being cost effective.

The trouble is, Sean, that you will not do your homework on the subject. It has been say 5 years since you stated that "we never went back" and despite numerous folks telling you facts and figures over and over again, you simply will not admit that you bought into the WNWTTM nutjobs. Explain Moon Rocks. And please do your reading this time, k?

I like this guy from what I've heard from him so far recently.

Two reasons you're not going to get people here to pay attention to this:
1) You're obviously hated here.
2) The Fairtax makes TOO much sense for most libs, aside from yourself obviously, to grasp. 8)

Fair Tax will never work because it doesnt make sense to POLITICIANS. ;)

And as far as Sean , no one HATES him. He just needs to stop being a DOPE (Douche On Purpose Everyday)

Huckabee to bring the Fairtax, and VAT before the Ways and Means Committee sometime in the next few weeks...looks like it is finally going to get a fair shake. No one wants VAT implemented here, not sure why it is even being discussed...unless he wants to show that a national sales tax can fund a nation.

The shuttle does not even go past low Earth orbit and is not capable of carrying a man to the moon

The fact is that we no longer build the craft necessary to go past low Earth orbit due to budget cuts. The space shuttle itself was threatened by cuts back in the 70's and was originally designed to dock with a new space station.
