I have been corrupted

This auto-tunes shit is really starting to grab me. This song is catchy as all hell. I like it. The version with Kanye blows though.

Why would he waste his time on something so lame?

Not a waste a time at all. I love some good pop music. katy Perry has some definite skill indeed as does Lady Gaga. Before you all laugh, have any of you heard Soundsystem 2009? Killer harmonies, guitars and beat. Not everything has to be Journeyesque you know?

Oh I am sorry, S2M told me to leave again. Fuck, sorry, I will only post if requested or called out. Sorry Sean, you cynical bastard.

Tell me this song isn't catchy as fuck! I cannot stop listening to it. It's actually dance/melodic rock. Seriously.

The still shots in the video are pretty eerie too. Makes you think a bit.

And be honest. Who here actually shut this song off? I am willing to bet S2M's negativity(and that's a boatload folks), that many of you hit replay a few times.

It makes you feel good, feel up and inspired.

I personally can hear Schon playing this tune.....that guy likes pop melodic guitar more than you all might think. Remember his solo in 2001 was a Shania Twain song. Food for thought. And one of his solo cd's had My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion and Everything I Do, I Do for You by Bryan Adams, although I think Keith Scott is much better on that song than Schon is.....as he should be, as he is the original player.

Something about it got to me, alright!! Like water drip, drip, dripping
on my head, driving me to the edge of insanity, but the beat was
really good for a few moments ...
it just dragged on and on!! Other than that, I see your point!!

Yer right Deano- good pop songs are cool. Though I really wish AutoTune was banned. It should be like steroids in pro sports... in other words, if you can't sing in tune, get the Fu** out of the game.
Lady Gaga seems to have the goods to my ears. Haven't heard much Katy Perry.

I don't know Bry- before we bash all female pop artists, we should really investigate and see whether any rock bands use this tool. I can see Augeri using it(of have used it)....Hell, Joe Elliot needs it. There may be others out there too.

Thoughts?

I do like Katy Perry's more guitar-driven songs. The dance/club music stuff, not so much. Waking up in Vegas is a classic pop song to my ears, and fun to boot. I've never even been to Vegas, but I can tell that the song captures the feeling of a hungover, post-rough night in Vegas romp very well.

Also, this is a fun music video that makes you remember when music videos used to be fun.

As for Lady Gaga, no thanks. She might be talented underneath all the ridiculousness (I wouldn't know, can't stomach the whole nine yards long enough to find out), but it's just too freakish for me. She came to Cleveland twice in the last year and I was literally embarrassed to be walking the same streets as the freaks and faux freaks who came out in spades to see her show.

If and when you decide to go to Vegas, please allow me to accompany you. I will take you places and show you the ropes....We'll get Dan to come. Hopefully we'll run into JT at PF Changs and punch him in the dick!
