"Hi folks. Good news is that I'm on the improve and things are going smoothly. Still in hospital as I need to complete this course of antibiotics. The original one didn't work. Then I'll need to rest up a bit. So sorry for continued lack of updates, but need to knock this on it's head."

I saw that this morning...Totally forgot about posting it over here, just in case. Anyway, glad to hear he's on the mend.

Yep and he will be there till the last drop! This is noting to mess with..and well it's good news that they found
something that is working....it's getting to a place that there are some "bugs" that can't be treated.

Come on. Either stick to "i don't care about tickets sold, or don't. You can't hype selling out the HOB here in LA, which is, yes, a giant bar...and mention some Japanese sell out. Mr Big simply is not all that. If they were, they would sell out respective venues. Bryan Adams is on a solo acoustic tour, and is playing places 3-4 times bigger than the HOB for FFS. The lone FACT is Mr Big has ONE song anyone knows, and that's it. They are a decent band, that's it. If they were great, they would have had more hit songs in their catalog! Thus they would and could play bigger venues! The fact MB does not have shit to campaign on, they basically suck...that's why they are playing things like M3...WTF is M3? A bunch of shit bands is what is. Play an arena or a stadium then talk to me about how good MB is. You put MB up against BJ, U2 or Bruce and they get run out of town on a fuckin rail. Hell, Bryan Adams would clean their clock, as would Journey. They can't compete with these bands.

Like I said in my last sentence I really don't care about stats/sales, I will only use it as amunition to throw back at some who throw it at me and think that stuff is important to their music choices. Funny how out of the 4 you mentioned.....MB, BJ, U2 and Bruce, MB is the only one I've put my travel $$s down on and travelled across the border to see play.....and would again in heartbeat. So as you can see, popularity means squat to me when it comes to my music. And I can tell you now I've seen Bon Jovi (arena) and preferred the MB show 10 Xs better. And since you brought Journey up, MB have had a #1 hit in 15 countries including the US, can Journey say that? Both bands have had other hits that never made the top 10 too. And disagree with ya, IMO, pound for pound, when it comes to talent and throwing down a great rock show, my money's on the current MB compared to the current Journey if put side by side. Either way, it's hard to say where MB could have gone if grunge hadn't come in and obliterated most of the rock bands when it came to air or video play. There was defintely at least a few really talented rock bands in the early 90s that never got the chance when grunge/Nirvana etc exploded. Shame.

As far as that #1 hit goes, that's a good example of stats not meaning much to me. Truth be told, TBWY is not one of my favorite MB songs, so that it was such a popular radio hit means squat, LOL I can probably name you 50 other songs from their catalogue that I like way better. Mind you same could be said of most of Journey's that hit the charts like Open Arms, Who's Crying Now, etc.

If you read my first sentence I say that I only use stats as amunition to throw back at somebody that is throwing them at me trying to minimize their talent. Seriously, has no baring on how I chose my music. Sales definitely does not always equal talent. That somebody like Kesha can sell what she does compared to MB is assinine IMO. It's all marketing and autotune, as MB have more talent in their big toe than she could even imagine having.

LOL hell, with the right marketing and vocal magic, even somebody like me (who can't sing to save my life ) can sell albums nowadays.

The current MB and the current Journey, member for member, yes I think they are more talented. Just my opinion.......but, Eric smokes Arnel, Billy smokes Ross, and Paul and Neal, well that may be a draw, both having things they are better at than the other - I'm back and forth on those two, somedays I prefer Neal and some I prefer Paul. I would have said Neal, hands down, but I've seen more sides to Paul's playing. Some think Paul's just this major shredder, but I've heard/seen enough of MB's stuff to know his softer playing is just as stunning. On their new Live From The Living Room, their accoustic set, has some of the most beautiful and softest playing I've ever heard from Paul, the accoustic versions of Undertow and Take Cover are absolutely beautiful. Same for Pat and Deen, talentwise - another draw for me Deen maybe winning out a smidge as his passion for what he does is just a joy to watch. Hell, each MB member can play all of the other members' instruments to boot, including Eric on piano......I think the only thing I haven't seen is Billy on drums.

As for your second sentence Dan, I didn't say that, LOL I pretty much said the opposite. Like I said above, not much of a fan of TBWY either. Why that one went #1 ahead of others of theirs is beyond me, but I've never understood why certain songs from any band become radio hits and others don't. LOL I'd put 90% of MB's catalogue above TBWY. Mind you, I can say the same for Journey. I would put alot of their catalogue above charters like Open Arms and Who's Crying Now, also.

I just saw them 3 weeks ago at the M3 Festival and they TOTALLY kicked ass!!! Easily the best band on the bill, which included Whitesnake, Joe Lynn Turner, and many other great bands. It was the first time I had seen Mr. Big live and I was completely impressed! The musicianship in that band is mind boggling. Don't knock 'em until you've seen them live!!!

So glad you guys had a good time. I've seen that mentioned more than once, somebody downstairs in the MB forum commented that he thought they had the tightest set of the weekend too. I was checking out some of their clips from M3 of some of the new ones.
