Preview of 2 finalized songs of my upcoming album

Postby MichaelRiesenbeck » Sun Jun 05, 2011 9:24 pm

Hi all!

After processing the input I've gotten here and discussions with the best Dutch studio engineers around, I finalized the first mixes of my upcoming album, called "Too".

So I proudly present the song "Cold Is the Night", this time with the complete intro. And here is also the song "Selena".

Selena: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1370552/Selena-clip6.mp3

Cold is the Night features Danny Danzi on lead & backing vocals, Rev Jones on bass, Francisco Rodríguez on keyboards and Rob Boshuijzen on drums.
Selena features Phil Vincent on lead & backing vocals, Tony Mills on backing vocals, Rev Jones on bass, Eric Ragno on keysboards and Rob Boshuijzen on drums.

I hope you'll enjoy these!

Like both songs alot, especially CITN. Only one thing, I love the first song, the music, intro, everything........but for some reason not digging the vocals as much, to me it sounds like he's holding back or something or maybe I just need more power/punch when it comes to vocals. It's mainly in the first part, he sounds better to me halfway through the song though. But as much as I like the first song, I prefer the vocals in Selena better. Just my honest opinion.

Thanks for you opinion, Deb.

I really appreciate that you took time to listen to these and I do see your point. It goes to show that music taste is personal, which is a good thing. I myself like the laid backness in the vocals in the verses, since for me it helps build up the dynamics to the chorus. And once you hear the rest of the song you'll hear Danny add power to the lead vocals. But it's a type of voice that's not for everyone, I see that.
