typical DT... does nothing for me really. I really, really like some of their stuff but a lot of it I just can't get into it

I heard this the other day...Good, classic-sounding DT track. You'd likely never know that Portnoy wasn't drumming on this.

Average tune. I have everything they've released, but am somehow not that big of a fan. I enjoy Labrie's former band, Winter Rose, more....my problem with the band is the 2-3 minute intros, and the pretentious musical passages...They aren't RUSH, and they never will be. Peart and Co. have a nice balance between music and vocals. DT likes to constantly shove their collective musical talents in your face....but then again, I realize for many people this is their favorite band - and I don't wish to rag on them.....

Pretty cool. Reminds me of something from "Awake" and/or "Falling Into Infinity"
Excited for the new cd

That is basically the whole point of prog/jazz/fusion music. It is a showcase for musicianship tending to have long, heavily instrumental type songs. You know this.

Yeah, I don't get that whole argument as well as calling them "pretentious". Isn't that part of what rock & roll is supposed to be about, for crying out loud?

Gayest album title ever.
Jordan's synth sounds are so "meh." Why doesn't he get a Mini-Moog?
They still don't know how to mix Myung's bass.
The vocal melody is lame, not to mention I haven't liked Labrie's voice since SFAM.
This song could've been recorded in 1999.

I'm not a big fan of LaBrie's voice, though some absolutely love it. As for the album title, I like it. I don't see how it fits the "Gayest album title ever" moniker.

Don't care for the vocals, but that's why I never got into Rush either. Little to over the top for my taste.

Digging it so far... this is exactly the direction I hoped they'd go in. Mix sounds great to me too.
Portnoy leaving is probably going to be the best thing for this band... I wish this album would have come out this past month though. A toasty summer June with a new DT release biannually has come to be quite a regular thing in my life... Blows I have to wait til fall.
