You wouldn't have been saying that if you saw an interview I saw with him many years ago. He was on one of the daytime talk-shows and made a complete ASS of himself. The interviewer asked him how long he had been a singer, and he goes "I'm not a singer, I'm an ARTIST!!!". He rolled his eyes, and cut one of the nastiest looks you've ever seen at the interviewer while he said it. I was a pretty big fan at the time and was like WTF???

I don't remember if it was Phil Donahue, or Maurey Povich, but it seems like it was one of those shows. I DESPISE daytime TV, and only watched it to catch his performances. Needless to say, I haven't (hell America hasn't) been much of a fan after that show. Not saying it was because of the show at all, but it was after the peak of his popularity. It was pretty sad to see how egotistical he was.

He's always been an ass. That's why he doesn't admit to haveing the name Bolotin, and ignores the 2 best albums on his CV - doesn't even mention the first 2 solo albums! And I'm sure he still has a raging ego....but at least he 'gets' the joke

That is a funny video. Jon and Neal said he got the ego trips and that was why they left him. Especially after he referred to them as though they were nobody studio musicians. He owed them his success. He has a good voice, but he had a great band during that time backing him. Sad. But sometimes time humbles a person. Good to see he can laugh at himself now.
