Musically he might be alright, but as person, you'd probably be hard pressed to find a shittier example.

Much like Neal Schon then?

Musically the show was on fire. Derek St Holmes is in the band this time around so you get to hear the vocals the way they are supposed to be.

What the fuck is wrong with Uncle Teddly VonNugenberger?? Clean and Sober, Patriotic, Unapologetic Conservative, Hunter, Father, Rock Star, TV Star, Writer, his only admitted vice was he liked to fuck all the girls backstage in his younger days. Whats' not to like?

Rubbed shit in his hair to dodge the draft, etc.

How's that for a fucking piece of shit? Supports sending our guys over to the Middle East but when it was his turn, he feigned being insane to get out of it.

40 years ago, and he was awarded a 1Y (student) deferment because he was enrolled as a student at Oakland Community College. Clinton didn't serve either. Could care less about any musicians politics as long as they ROCK!

That's hypocrisy. You would go on a rampage if it were some liberal Democrat.

I didn't know this about Nugent. He's just a typical chickenhawk to me now, as is Bush and Cheney and so many other neo-conservatives.

DUDE!! I was going to say the exact same thing. Ive been a Nuge fan (music & politics) since the early 70's. He might have a big mouth sometimes but he knows what he is talking about and takes no shit. A True North American Patriot!!

Cool. Always liked the sexy groove of Stranglehold. LOL, great song choice for the party scene in Rockstar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-qXvgbruf0

Always loved this song. It used to be my ringtone on my phone, but someone put it on there for me. Now with a new phone of 2 years, I still haven't figured out how to do it again. One of these days!! It really got people's attention though!!

He's supposed to be playing Ridgefest here in the Chicago area next weekend, unfortunately I have to work all night so I won't get to see him :?

I'm not a big Nugent fan. He's a pretty good guitarist but I kinda get tired of the loud-mouth act and, like Springsteen or Mellencamp, I don't particularly care for the mixture of politics and music.

Eh, just giving my MR friends what I saw.

Take from it what you will.

I saw him once opening a show that also included Deep Purple and Lynyrd Skynyrd. He was OK but the cussing and bravado got a little old.

That being said, the draft-evading stuff bothers me but it was also over 40 years ago. There are very few people alive in this country who didn't do something really dumb when they were teenagers. Hell, when I was a teenager, I was dumb enough to think that Dick Gephardt was a good Presidential candidate at the time.

I saw the Nuge during his Tailgunner tour... dude opened the set standing on top of a wall of amps.... started hopping down the steps... and took a fucking HUGE header straight into the FLOOR... we thought for sure, he'd knocked his own ass out... but he popped right up with that insane grin and kept right on playing..

Thanks for sharing, AR.

I don't get the need for bashing Ted over his politics. AR was just sharing some music. Personally if we only supported those artists who shared our political views no music would be sold. Most artists are out of touch with reality. And if the music is good the music is good. I don't agree with all his personal views. I don't agree with most musicians personal views. I just like the music.

Politics on both ends of the spectrum is a lying game. Seriously do you folks think any of these people got where they are because they are in "touch with the common man"?

Enjoy the music.

Love the MCM, regardless!! I don't condone nor do I excuse his draft dodging
actions ...college enrollment must've quadrupled amongst 18 yr. old males
during the Vietnam draft yrs. I admire his honesty and bluntness ...and don't
always agree w/that, but I do appreciate the talent and craziness!! He didn't
kill anyone and he's not running this country!!

I saw the first episode where he loaded up his gear and hauled it to the barn where the guests were sleeping and proceeded to wail on his guitar at top volume, playing the national anthem, rudely awakening those folks early in the morning.
