This is just insane! What the hell is going on over there??

Riots have also broken out in other major cities.

It's supposed to have been kicked off when a guy in a minicab was shot by cops.
A bullet was lodged in the police car radio and it was reported that the dead guy had fired at police and they shot in retaliation.

Now its being reported that the bullet in the cop car was police issue.
So we don't know if the guy had a stolen police gun/bullets or what.

Then a group of people from the dead guy's community staged a protest march past the police station house - but rioters took over.
Looting and arson attacks etc ensued.

The peaceful protesters say this is nothing to do with them.

the news is reporting that the rioters are contacting each other via the Blackberry network to run amok and steal as much stuff as they can and wreck as many stores, banks etc as possible.


Some say the kids are reacting to all the government cuts which have led to closure of their 'youth clubs' and facilities etc.


Other say its kids angry with police who are harrassing them and getting away with brutality etc etc.








Go figure.




But we don't have enough money to pay the police or fire department for extra hours, we have cut the numbers of our armed forces and the armed forces we do still have are abroad fighting wars.


And in some instances where whole streets of buildings were on fire our fire fighters were told to do nothing for fear of their own personal safety.



It's all crazy and scary.

There are a lot of people throughout the world who'd rather be animals than decent people.

Destruction & looting.
Societal polluting.
They need four legs instead of two.
Fits of rage.
Extend from their cage.
Take the freedoms from me to you.

Anarchy & fire to the strays.
The few always rule the many.
Just do it in your own ways.

The Prime Minister and The Mayor have come back from their vacations and are trying to work out how best to sort it.
With no money and not enough Police.

Our prisons are full.
Our money chest is empty.

So their promises that culprits will ALL feel the full force of the Law seem a bit hopeless to be honest.



And they can't use anything against them that might hurt them because they know they will get sued.

No one respects the Police any more and they certainly aren't scared of them.

Seriously..........we don't actually know if he fired at all. Or if he even really had a gun.


This is the problem Rip - we don't bloody know the truth.

can't find an account of it.

The reports are so full of the rioting that they just keep saying stuff like "the riots began after the shooting of Mark Duggan in Tottenham last week"

And the reports just say the guy "was believed to be armed"

And its only now that we've been told the bullet found lodged in the police car radio was police issue.

finally - what happened.

I have an especially low sympathy level for rioters and looters. The mob mentality is particularly frightening. Always reminds me of "Bob's First Law" from the JUDGE DREDD series...
