If I had a time machine, I'd go back to...

Just curious about this question. If you had a time machine that only went back in time... what year would you choose and why? I'd personally go back to 1988, because I lost 2 of my best friends back then. I think if I could go back in time, I could have saved them. How about you? We all have regrets, and I'm interested in seeing what you might change if you had the chance.

Easy, I would have gone back in time and taken Daniel with me, he keeps saying he wishes he could live it all over again and would have been smart enough to have married me back in the 80's. But I have him now, how funny things turned out! But I am glad I have my children, I don't ever regret having them.

So I guess I would not change things. Love come full circle for me.

Purely from a spectator's perspective, I'd like to go back when dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures roamed the Earth. I also wouldn't mind seeing how the old Jesus thing unfolded. It would be interesting to see what was so alluring that one very insane man was able to manipulate people for thousands of years after his death. An early Frontiers concert would be cool, too.

Even if you went back in time, I don't think you would be able to manipulate anyone, it is not like you manipulate anybody here. We overlook your insanity Dan.

As for the Frontiers show I went in 83...........you missed a great show!

Rumor has it that you were also around for the live teachings of Jesus. Care to confirm or deny this rumor?

I have no doubt you could watch him be crucified, killed, sit outside the tomb for 3 days. Watch him walk out with your own eyes and then marvel how damned cool Charlie Sheen is!!!

Since I was the first in my family to go to college it would have to be 1986 so I could go back through it with the knowledge I have now. Reliving some of the parties wouldn't suck either.

It's a fact that he didn't walk out of any tomb. Charlie Sheen, on the other, probably could. Dude is that bad ass.

More than could fit into any one time machine I'm afraid.

If you are saying I could go back knowing what I know now, I'd probably go back to 1990-I think I could manage to avoid my biggest regrets.....well, better make it 1989 just for good measure.

Just a quick question , can you go back in time and keep the same street smarts you have now.

Cos then I would go back to a number of first dates that I had as a twenty year old that didn't end up going anywhere at the end of the night.
LOL, cos if I knew what I knew now, I'd be so much better at knowing what to say and how to act :D :D LOL

Does this going back in time thing only allow me to just change/relive a past moment, or give me the ability to do anything and anywhere?

For life alone, I'd go back to 2007, when all my favorite European bands toured the US and I missed them all, including a couple that have since disbanded.

- Go back to 1986 and see the ROR Mountain Aire concert.

- Go back to 2006 and see a JSS fronted Journey.

- Go back to last Thursday and relive that killer MB concert again.

  You guys are killing me here. I'm not hearing many regrets here, and most of these are just catching concerts from the past. That's cool though, and I appreciate everyone's input (well except for Dan's). :D

Interesting that you'd go back in time to endure torture, when there's enough of that to go around in the present.

Go back to 1990, buy better keyboard gear and an electric guitar, amp and a metronome, leave the left hand bass gig so I could play keys and sing. All the work I did from 93 on to get better could have been done then.

I'd definitely go back to the day my son was born. It was like being touched by GOD. And yes, I do believe.

Very cool post! Thanks for sharing, and that would be awesome to go back to my son's birth. I hadn't thought of the good things... I was just focused on the tragedy's I've gone through, and thought it would be cool if I could go back and alter those things. I guess I need to get me a flux capacitor! :D
