I want to like it. I don't hate it. It's just too samey for my tastes. I'd rather have a new W.E.T. release. This WOA release is being treated like last year's TREAT effort(another samey release). That one came out in January of 2010, and people were already gushing about AOTY. There was still 11 more months of releases...herecit's not as bad, as it's already August....so far, Whitesnake has my vote for AOTY.

What a great album, just simply great songs, and performances...a little different than the first album (in a good way, more mid tempo rockers)...worth the purchase...Work of Art picks up the melodic torch right from the hands of two of my favorite bands, Journey and Toto, better than any other modern melodic rock outfit I've heard.

Technically, that was a 2010 release. Drew disagrees, and has already smacked me in the dick over my assertion. Album was released in Europe in 2010.

Nope, Drew's right. It was only released in Japan at the end of 2010. Europe, US, etc.... was 2011. :P

I do love the new WS ...but it's a toss up between SIC and WI.
And when I say toss up, I mean tie, the coin better not land !!

I also like the idea of a new WET release ...

Thanks for corroborating my point that it was released in 2010. Much appreciated. Kindly pick an AOTY for 2011.....

There's a couple of songs that capture that "Journey-Frontiers" era vibe -specifically "Ask the Lonely" - Just awesome

I get what your saying, I think the difference with this release and a lot of other releases is that the songs are all good and have great hooks and a nice balance to them. So many other releases have that "samey" sound to it but the songs arent very good(i found that to be with the new Toby Hitchcock cd, i also didn't like the 2 songs he tried to copy the W.e.t vibe from) and I wouldn't put this cd in the same category as Whitesnake, it has a much more West Coast Aor vibe to it.

Indeed! It was a one country release in 2010 and a WORLDWIDE 2011 release.

I kinda miss the Toto vibe of the first one. But all in all, the second one is better (In my opinion)
