Saw Leppard Wednesday night. They may be getting up there, but they still put on a great show. The crowd was on their feet all night. They opened with "Undefeated"....the band and the crowd were electric ALL NIGHT, this is how a new tune should go over. Love the sports theme on the screens. Our military and jets. Awesome.
Here's a pretty good video of it in NC.

Undefeated is killer song. Kings of the World is very bad and the third new one is decent.
I like the live cuts from the album too, particularly 9 Lives.

The drummer looks like he could use a hand.

You must not be much of a Queen fan. Love the Queen vibe on "Kings of the World", much like "Love" off of Sparkle Lounge, pays homage to Queen.

Puttin' it midly. Only one I can put up w/ is Fat Bottom Girls.
I can see why the loons at one point were pushing for perry to front them, though.

Wow, that was great. Great intro, great anticipatory buildup and a great video montage to an excellent song. This band has good management.

I respect the hell out of the dude. Life threatening accident and he gets off his ass to accomplish something that no one else has ever done. He could have taken the easy road and moped about how bad he's feeling and how hard he's got it, and start threads on message boards looking for encouragement to improve himself.
Seeing how my 4 year old boy himself is an amputee, I plan on using Rick Allen as an example that there's nothing you can't do if you want it bad enough.

Rick Allen's still a terrific drummer. Never realized exactly how he pulled it off now until I saw the explanation in the Mirrorball dvd.
And that scene when Elliot gets the fans to salute him and Allen fogs up was really cool.

Rick Allen can't masturbate with his left hand, though.

Seriously? The guy had a great voice. In my opinion, his voice was even better in his last few years, when he was weaker physically. Listen to some of the stuff from "Made in Heaven" or "Innuendo" especially.

No problem man. Rick Allen pokes fun at himself (see his one-armed self portraits he draws w/ his autograph)
I just wanted to point out the guys attitude and drive to do what he loves, not to mention the "Raven Drum Foundation" he started. Seems like a great guy.

Didn't he get arrested here in the US a few years ago for beating up his woman in an airport restroom or something like that?

He is one if the most gracious people I have ever seen, when it comes to fans. I've gotten to meet him a few times after a concert, and he will be the first one out to meet fans, and does not leave until everything is signed, and any pictures anyone wants, are taken. He actually takes time to talk, he jokes around. He seems to have his life in very good order and I think he should be an inspiration for sure!

Between Def Leppard and Lynrd Skynrd, it's amazing these bands found it in themselves to continue on (Skynrd did go on hiatus for a bit) after the multiple ups and downs they've experienced with losing members so tragically.

I believe that was 1995, it was a different wife, and I thought they both were arrested...meaning she did the same to him? I'm sure there are articles. He seems very happy in his current marriage, and it seems life changing for him.

Here's the article. Makes me like the guy even more:
Def Leppard drummer arrested for spousal abuse
Copyright 1995 Reuters Ltd. All rights reserved.
LOS ANGELES, July 6 (Reuter) - Rick Allen, the one-armed
drummer of the British heavy metal band Def Leppard, was arrested
for spousal abuse after beating up his wife at Los Angeles
International Airport, police said on Thursday.
The 32-year-old musician was free on bail a day after his
arrest and subsequent booking, said police spokeswoman Diane
Scully. Police said Allen, who lost his left arm in a car
accident 10 years ago, slammed his wife Stacey into a wall at the
Delta Airlines terminal and tried to choke her.
A spokesman for the band said details about the incident were
sketchy.
"He and Stacey are fine," said Howard Paar of the band's
Mercury Records label. "Beyond that, I really don't know too much
at this point."
Def Leppard, for which Allen still drums with the help of
technology, has sold millions of records. Their hits include
"Animal" and "Pour Some Sugar On Me."
