Well, Cold Heart is no more...

DAMN I'm tired of feeling like a yo-yo here. I know I've posted several things here about the "band", but this really is the end of the whole project. Alex is too busy, and he always has too many irons in the fire. Every time I send him something, he types back "Man, I just wrote the most amazing guitar track, or man I just laid down the best vocals I've ever done!". It always ends with "I'll email it tonight, and it'll be in your inbox when you get up". Days, and then weeks will go by... NOTHING. :( This has been going on for the last couple of years, but has gotten much worse over the last 6 months. I'm officially done. I can't keep waiting on tracks that never come, and I feel very emotionally connected with these songs so it really bothers me.

I don't have any ill will towards Alex, because I think he's a great guy (and extremely talented). He just doesn't have the time or capability to focus on this project and see it thru to the end. It's really sad too, because I think we had some great songs in there. I guess at this point, I'm going to try to find some other musicians who want to give it a whirl and see if anything comes from it. Nothing like starting over from scratch. :(

Well, since you posted some time ago that you "have no respect for singers who don't compose their own songs"

I have stayed out of your threads,

but I have to poke my nose in here -

It's time you did find some musicians local to you.
You can't run a long distance band. That's just crazy.

So stop chasing that and post some Ads for local people of like mind.

Throw your energy into that.

There will be other musicians out there just as frustrated as you are.

So - do it.

Reminds me of when i was seventeen and in love but had no car. This girl lived and hour and a half away from me and we would get together on weekends and this went on for a full solid year.It killed me having to wait during the long week just for the weekend to arrive. Those weekends were like being in heaven especially the time in bed. Finally ended up getting a car but by that time this girl had moved on to the next dude and tore my heart out.I loved her so much that i literally spent another two years after we broke up periodically calling her or doing things to stay connected or in touch.Final straw for me was her moving literally ten minutes from me and then after we started talking again she ended up dating my best friend and then got pregnant. She ended up giving the baby up for adoption and i haven't seen her since and this was back in the mid 90's.When she did that to me that was when i finally let go for good.A year or two later i found the person i'm with now and we have been together for a good fifteen years and have two kids.Hang in there and better things will defintely come.

Damn. So sorry Jim.

Want me to start singing scales and get my voice in shape? Any call for a low baritone in your songs?

Cheer up buddy, you have us.

Hey, I know you don't know me and maybe don't care, but I just wanted to tell you that you HAVE to continue in some way. What I have heard so far is truly amazing. I hope you will find someone capable to sing your cool stuff and someone with enough time to work with you. I don't know who the singer was in the versions I heard (on your myspace) but the real cool thing were the songs, not the singer. (I don't mean to say the singer was bad, but I personally didn't think it was a good match, that voice and the songs)

I look forward to hear some more of you and your awesome songs.

greets Roy

I had a little girlfriend in fourth grade, and I'd never kissed her. We had anal sex, but she wouldn't kiss me, she was saving that for marriage. I didn't know how to move in for the first kiss. Even as an adult moving in for a kiss is awkward, you know, because of the screams of, "Rape!" and the chloroform. I asked my dad what to do, and he told me to ask if I could smell her breath. Even as a fourth grader, I knew this man was retarded. "Can I smell your breath?" It sounds like something you say to a girl before you choke her to death with a phone cord.

 ,Well in its own way there is a connection there though strictly musical. The chemistry that Jim and Alex had was probably good enough for something to happen if this guy Alex would've had more time to spare.I can see where Jim is sort of left hanging in the whole deal.

Are you saying that anal impalement is not quite as cool in Junior High as it was in Elementary? Could it be tied to the discontinuation of Milk Money payments in the higher grades?

Instead of Cold Heart, maybe the name 'Lazarus' would be more appropriate. It's dead, it's alive again then it's dead again and then it's alive again and now it's dead again.

Damn Susie! I wish you would have said something to me, because I sure wasn't referring to you when I said that! I was referring to the Britney Spears's of the world who get the gigs based on looks alone, and they sing the bubblegum crap that is written for them. In most of those cases, they don't even have good vocals! They just work studio magic and autotune the crap out of them until they hit the notes. That seriously bothers me that after all this time, you didn't shoot me a PM or something. :(

I've always thought the world of you, and I also think you're a great singer. You know me... sometimes I go a little overboard on my posts, but I sincerely never intended that to be a slam on you. I hope you can forgive me.

Thanks very much Roy, I really appreciate the kind words. I get so frustrated, because I can't tell you how many times I've posted ads on several musicians wanted websites and there's just nobody around here that's interested in doing this type of music. Normally, they want to do heavier rock, or they want to do country. Alex is one hell of a guitarist, and he'll be a hard person to replace.

I'm not giving up though, and will continue to search. I'll get much more aggressive in my searches now that I know it's done for sure, and we'll see... Thanks for checking out the tunes, and maybe you'll hear something new soon.
