W.E.T. had me looking into other bands. I'm not digging Talisman, but I tried Work of Art and their song "Why Do I?" is great. Any other recommendations from you melodic rock experts?

Well..it would help if I knew what aspects of W.E.T. attract you? In general, what other melodic bands do you currently like?

W.E.T.'s melodies, production, and musicianship appeal to me.

Gid..check out this site:

Everything is in alphabetical, and each album is reviewed by normal folks...I'm sure you won't like anything pre-1995 or so...so type in a year up top from the drop down menu...choose YEAR, then type in the year. Groups who released albums that year will be listed in alphabetical order. You can read the reviews, then head to youtube and see if they have anything there.

Just so I can get a sense...do you like sort of deep voices like JSS, or higher voices like Augeri's...I get a mini-list going for you in the meantime...

Thanks for the site, man.

I prefer higher voices like Augeri's and the dude from WOA. JSS has a great voice, but I prefer to hear some range, which is why I think W.E.T. is his best work.

Talisman totally rules - one of my favorite bands of all time. We should help educate him. :)

Can't you suggest an album that's actually released ?! Or is it your typical " I got this album and you don't "-attitude ? ;)

I checked out Toby at MRF ( thanks Saint John) and was pleasantly surprised !

Why? I like WOA, in general....and I love the bands I suggested.

BTW, WOA only wishes they were as good as Bormann.

Bormann is great....inconsistent sometimes, but great....but nothing like WOA. He's not AOR at all.

Worked on me. Not sure if it was you who posted it or who did, can't remember..........but the very first clip I heard/saw of JSS period, was this one..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieMVdbFHNYQ I know it's not one of their originals, but I looooved what they did with that song, still a favorite to this day. Then heard that that show was on the Talisman double dvd and quickly bought it and proceeded to collect quite a few Talisman cds. Good stuff! Rhyme or Reason on '7' has a really Crazy vibe too, probably why it's one of my faves on the 7 album.

PS:  BB, that sig is so wrong!

If you like the wet cd you should like at least 2 of the songs on this one because they are redone on the hitchcock album, i thought this one would be better but for some reason it sounded all the same to me, (the first song is very good) "how to stop" rips off a Wet song , dont get me wrong its catchy, but not as good as the Wet version.

Right over your head  I was being a bit cryptic /sarcastic talking about the 2 songs that kind of stole from Wet songs(especially the chorus on how to stop) 8)

Same goes for you
At the time you suggested the Toby Hitchcok CD , it was not released it. ;) Official release date is Aug 23rd ( 26th on iTunes)
So it WAS the " I've had this album for a week neener neener :P " attitude ;)

Gideon:

If you like Work of Art (Excellent Album, can't wait to get their new one) check out Grand Illusion. I suppose their influence comes from Styx, but there are some amazing vocal harmonies on their albums and the production seems to be top notch. Also, even though this isn't necessarily a new band, you might like the band, Shy. I have their Unfinished Business album, and I still listen to that album even today (I think it's been out since like 2003.)

DEFINITELY try out Mecca. I am soooooo patiently awaiting their new album, but their debut album is probably one of the best AOR albums I have listened to in a very long time!

I think you might enjoy the older JSS albums if you like WET but didn't dig Talisman. I'm not on board with Talisman either. I tried but it just didn't appeal to me.
