Craft for Stevo and S2M for the Holidays

Postby artist4perry » Wed Sep 07, 2011 9:23 pm

Brought to you from the same folks who suggested crocheted poo bags...........a craft for Stevo and S2M for the holidays!

Unique Tampon Angel

Our guest contributor has a very unique craft. This is her story: Some people think this is great, others think it is gross and ridiculous… but I am a big fan of the tampon angel. A few years ago when I had my first Christmas tree, I had a trim-the-tree party and invited my friends over to make crafts to decorate the tree with. A lot of them were scared of being crafty, so I had some pretty easy ideas for them. My favorite was the tampon angel. Certain brands work better – I think ended up deciding Playtex worked best because it doesn’t just expand into a big rectangle.

Materials:

* Playtex Tampons
* Bowl of Water
* Starch
* Wooden Bead
* Hot Glue
* Fine-Tipped Markers
* Metallic Pipe Cleaners
* Wired Ribbon
* Bows
* Glitter

Steps:

1. You start by taking the tampon out of the applicator and wetting it.
I usually use a bowl of water with a little starch mixed in.

2. Then you can shape the angel “dress.”

3. I use a wooden bead for the head and thread the string through. You can use a little hot glue to keep the head facing the right direction.

4. We used fine-tipped markers to draw the face in and metallic pipe cleaners to make halos.

5. You can add yarn hair but most of my friends didn’t get that far.

6. For wings, we tied pieces of wired ribbon in the middle to make a knot or used bows and hot glued them to the back of the angel. You can cut the ribbon to make it wing-shaped or leave it in a bow.

7. Some people glittered theirs, others left them pretty plain.

8. But overall, it is a very easy craft and I still hang them on my Christmas tree.

You were picked for ragging me yesterday, so you only get one tampon angel.

S2M................ I loves him but he deserves a whole heavenly host, just because I know how much he loves heavenly beings.

Truth be told, because I just wanted to pick two guys who would be funny to dedicate this thread to. Nothing really personal. Now Stevo if I wanted to dedicate it to a douche bag, and I will keep looking for that particular craft item for you, I would have to name someone else. :wink: :lol: :twisted:

STEVO! YOUR IN LUCK! DANCING DOUCHEBAGS!
dancing douchbags

Beleive it or not, the other day I was chillin’ at the beach with three full knapsacks (as I often do) when suddenly they jumped up in the air and started dancing around! I was so glad I had my camera handy to capture the freak occurrence.

Well, okay. The above statement was only very distantly related to the truth. Marcel and I were going to the beach, and we thought it would be fun to bring some doucheBAGs along, to throw them around and see how they might photograph.

I make these handy knapsacks out of recycled shower curtains. Because douche is French for shower, I call them doucheBAGs.

Well, this is a little over the top, but I saw that pattern on a site that usually has such beautiful things to make, sweaters, scarves, shawls............and when I saw that I thought! WHAAAAAAAAAAa :?: Then laughed my butt off that anyone in their right mind would even suggest much less proudly post how to make these for a Christmas tree! :shock: :shock:

Had to share the laugh. People are too weird for words. Even worse, the site manager defending the post! :shock:

Nothing honors God's sweet angels like Pearl tampons in angel form! :roll: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
