When will Europe release another "Out Of This World&quo

I am such an avid Europe fan, and I think "Out Of This World" is my favorite single album of all time. The keys were freaking fantastic, the guitars where the best I've ever heard (Thanks to KM), and the vocals, songwriting, production were all top notch. I have to say... I'm not a big fan of their newer albums starting with "Start From The Dark". I know they wanted to drop key and go with a more modern sound, but the keyboards are all just background filler. The few songs they ARE featured in are nowhere near as amazing as they used to be, and they definitely take a back-seat to everything else on the albums.

I would LOVE to see them do another album with the feel of OOTW. Hell, even Prisoners In Paradise would be a little better. Am I alone in this thinking? Do you all like the new direction? Just curious.

I am also a big EUROPE fan... and I LOVED Kee Marcello's work on OUT OF THIS WORLD.

I also like the new direction. There are some killer songs on those three last albums. Some songs on those albums even get pretty close to achieving their old 80s style, to my ears. But by and large.. they are going for a different audience now, and trying to stay relevant instead of doing the old style over and over again. If they only did the old stuff... nobody would buy them now. Well, nobody but the older fans like us. And the truth is EUROPE wants more than a niche market.

In the past, I primarily listened just to 80s metal, but recently... I've had to start listening to rock music from the 90s (which I initially hated), the 2000s, and now. This was because my band wanted to play newer material. I've come to really love some of these newer bands... like Fuel, Alice In Chains, Weezer, and so forth. After getting appreciation for these newer bands, I gained so much respect for Europe's newer direction. They somehow integrated this newer direction with their older style, and it sounds good. Their new albums have great production, great songwriting, and great playing. I've also gained appreciation for John Norum, who I didn't previously like as much as Kee Marcello.

Its true the first few modern albums by them had much LESS keyboards. I like Europe's keyboardist... I think he's fantastic. But the last album LAST LOOK AT EDEN does feature more prominent keys.. you may be happy to find.

Jim, I think it will be a long wait for a similar album to OOTW. The main problem is in retrospect the band likes that album, but thinks it was over-produced, especially when it comes to the keyboards. Much of the OOTW sound is directly tied to those keyboards and Kee Marcello's playing style, which was definitely different to John Norum's. I see the band now trying to be more of a straight ahead rock band and attempting to stay away for the super slick production. The upcoming album that Kevin Shirley is working on may prove me wrong, but who knows. I think that last album, LLAE is the closet album to the "old" Europe sound. My personal opinion is that it could have been the follow up record to Prisoners in Paradise.
