Apple fanpeople unite....
I'm trying to join Feeling That Way and Anytime so when my ipod is shuffling they aren't treated as separate tracks...I've tried doing it the way the web says by importing the songs from an audio cd, while clicking "join cd tracks"from the itunes preferences drop down menu...everytime I try this, that option is grayed out.
Anybody have experience with this? I promise not to argue...

I could never figure out the gapless thing, either. There is one very solid workaround to that, and that's to join the songs with another program. I use Audio Editor Gold. If you need help doing that, let me know.

You've got it sorted by track number, not album number right?
The left most column in iTunes must be blue at the top to indicate it is the sorted field. If you have it sorted by album, the tracks will look like they are in the right order, but the join tracks option will be greyed out.

I appreciate the help Rick, Don....nothing's working. I have an MP3 joiner, but the tracks have to be IN mp3 format to join...itunes has changed them to mp4, or AAC, or M4A, and screwed everything up.
Rick, is that program shareware, or a pay program?

Were you selecting the music from your iTunes source window (not your iTunes Library) when you you were accessing the CD?

I was accessing them from the "Devices, audio cd" option window, between STORE and GENIUS.

Just wait for the 2015 re-record. They're going to feature them as one song on that disc.

It doesn't support those file types either.
I think you can right click on an individual song and it will give you the option to make an mp3 version of it.

Did you set the pre-gap to zero before you joined the tracks?

I just ripped them directly from the CD as one track.

I think it was with Easy CD Creator 5, which is outdated now.

Fuck iTunes! I use it too, but concert CD's should still be played through a CD/DVD player. Too much effort to cut and splice tracks just for 1 song. I did have to take a few old King Biscuit Flower Hour Discs that ripped to 1 70 minute track and splice them up though.
Plenty of free mp3 splicers/cutters out there though. Just google it. I haven't had to use one in ages.

Media monkey is a great alternative to iTunes. I've used it for a few years and love it. Here's a review of it.
http://download.cnet.com/MediaMonkey-St ... 09807.html
To get the required device drivers without installing iTunes you can get them from this free installer.
Copy Trans Drivers Installer

You can then sync your iPod or whatever with Media Monkey without iTunes.
