The logo is pretty cool for the announcement,, the Tuesday 4 of course means next Tuesday 4th of october, The 10 means it will be on 10am Pacific time
The Map logo is Apple's headquarters location,,, now most people tryin to figure out what that 1 in the phone logo means,
I think its the Steve Job's famous " ONE more thing" when he announces new things

Apple's iPhone 5 will include a whopping 1GB of RAM and a voice-control system known as the Assistant, according to the latest reports hopping onboard the iPhone rumor mill.

Word of these potential new features was apparently leaked to TUAW by an unnamed but "reliable source" last week. However, the tech news site said it was hesitant to publish the details without corroboration.

But yesterday 9to5Mac said it received the same information from a "source familiar with the SOC's manufacturing," which refers to the phone's expected A5 processor, or system-on-a-chip.

Based on details revealed by the source or sources, the new iPhone will come equipped with the A5 chip, 1GB of internal memory, and an 8-megapixel camera. The phone will also include a Qualcomm Gobi Baseband chipset that will allow it to run on both CDMA and GSM networks, claims 9to5Mac's source.

Beyond the boost in memory, the most compelling feature to reportedly pop up on the new phone will be a voice-control system called the Assistant. Described by 9to5Mac as the "biggest game changer" of the next iPhone, the Assistant will allow users to navigate the device and issue commands via voice.

Reports of a voice control system coming to the next iPhone and iOS 5 have been around for several months. But the Assistant, which is based on voice technology from Siri, will let people run some pretty sophisticated tasks using just their voice.

For example, you could tell the iPhone to "send a text message to John Smith asking him to come to dinner tonight," and the Assistant will do just that. Even further, the voice feature will include an intelligent conversation mode so that you can engage in a dialog. As an example of this, you could tell the phone to "call mom," and it might ask if you want to call her on her home number or her mobile number.

The Assistant certainly would sound like a game changer and something that should make the next iPhone worth the wait.

I just go an iPhone 4 about a month ago and really have no desire to upgrade. I'm satisfied with what I have until our contract runs out in two years.

Well you will get half of the fun anyway with the iOS5 :)
Upgrading your iPhone 4 to iOS 5 software will bring you lots of neat features that will keep you busy till iPhone 6 comes out ;)

My guess it they will announce iPhone 5 and iPhone 4GS for a release date of Oct 21st! 8)

Well the 4 can command the iPod, and can call someone on your phone list, or dial a number you command, but it can't take dictated text messages. Unless no one ever told me it can!

I don't know much about the iphone. One daughter has the 4, but I never asked her about that feature, just assumed!!
It is friggin' awesome ...you just have to make sure to enunciate. My phone doesn't understand some accents
and it doesn't cuss well if you do it too fast and loud!!

Thinking about switching from droid to iphone. Our contract runs out Oct. 13th. Wonder what the price difference will be between the 4 and 5?

Droid is a cheap knockoff. My girlfriend had one and, after using my iPhone4, switched within a week. I'm guessing the iPhone5 will be the usual $199 with a 2 year contract. Well worth it.

My cell phone contract just ran out. Right now I have a hacked Droid that I can tether my iPad to without any extra fee (unlimited data plan which Verizon won't be offering if I get a new phone).

The only thing about my Motorola Droid phone that I was dissatisfied with was the camera. I'll ne giving iPhone 5 a look once it's released.

OK Mr Jobs Jr ;) , no need to put down droid phones. The new Galaxy S II is a fine phone and beats iPhone 4 in many aspects and far from a cheap knock off. iPhone 5 hopefully will not disappoint. While I'm looking forward to all the neat features and of course the design , Im a bit worried that iPhone 5 may not live up to all the hype.
I think you're correct about the $199 ( for 16GB). Probably $299 for 32GB and I'm REALLY hoping for a 64Gb even if it's $399.

So B, is it clear that the iPhone 5 will be the different designed phone and the 4S will have the same physical similarities as the iPhone4? I can't figure out if the iP5 actually is the slimmed down larger displayed phone that rumors have hinted at or if it will be a souped up version of the iP4 design.

So far all rumors of course but the so called leaked prototype has lead into iPhone 5 cases surfacing which indicates that iPhone 5 will look different with a bigger screen but no glass back , plastic back instead. iPhone 4GS is supposed to look like iPhone 4 but with more RAM to support Assist. All rumors. One more week. Can't wait !

I'm half way thru my 2yr iPhone4 contract, but I've dropped and smashed the fricken glass pane on front....so I need to try and suck up a free upgrade :)

Very true, they always keep us guessing. My guess will be 2 different phones, the iP5 being the larger display & more powerful cam, etc...The 4S being the same form factor as the current phone but with an upgrade in processor.

Massive HTC Android Vulnerability Leaves Security Expert "Speechless"

"I am quite speechless right now," begins Artem Russakovskii over at Android Police as he posts about a "massive" security flaw in HTC Android devices that allows malicious hackers to access phone numbers, GPS, SMS, email addresses and more.

The affected devices include EVO, 3D, 4G and Thunderbolt and apparently the flaw goes so deep that the guys at Android Police are discovering new issues with each new test or examination:

What Trevor found is only the tip of the iceberg - we are all still digging deeper - but currently any app on affected devices that requests a single android.permission.INTERNET (which is normal for any app that connects to the web or shows ads) can get its hands on:
- the list of user accounts, including email addresses and sync status for each last known network and GPS locations and a limited previous history of locations
- phone numbers from the phone log
- SMS data, including phone numbers and encoded text (not sure yet if it's possible to decode it, but very likely)
- system logs (both kernel/dmesg and app/logcat), which includes everything your running apps do and is likely to include email addresses, phone numbers, and other private info

Even worse, for apps that only need one type of information, like the Internet permission, this vulnerability still grants access to other areas of the device (like location, logs, even battery stats, just to name a few).

Basically, it sounds as if you're using one of these HTC Android devices, you've been walking around with your fly undone and a big "eff me over" sign on your back.

The security research is ongoing and we'll update with any fixes or security patches that get issued. The only way this gets fixed is an update from HTC itself, says the guys at A.P.

I think they're going to announce 4 new phones. The iPhone5, the iPhone4S and 2 lower end models to compete in places like India and China. From what i understand, Steve Jobs was rather furious about the iPhone4 leaks before the official introduction and the iPhone5 has been policed by the ex-FBI employees that Apple has hired. I also think the iPhone4S leaks were intentional. But, like you said, we'll find out in about 24 hours! I just can't believe that they waited 16 months to announce an updated iPhone4. That will send the stock tumbling. I also don't think that they would set up Tim Cook to look like a fool, and announcing just the iPhone4S will do just that. They have something big to announce ... I just have to believe that. I bet they update us on their iCloud, too. And I'm expecting a new product in time for the Christmas quarter. :)

I think the word on the street is that they have been trying to hammer out a contract over the weekend where they can announce world wide music rights for their iCloud service.

There are several things to think about if you have a droid/blackberry/windows phone and want to change to an Iphone:

1)Iphones have an internal battery (like Ipods) so Apple has to service the device if you have an issue (unlike everything else, where the battery just pops out.

2)You can't expand the memory like everything else (no SD Cards).

3)Can't speak about Verizon, but with ATT, you only have 15 days for in store exchange with an Iphone vs. 30 days for everything else.

The only clear advantage that the Iphone has is the total number of apps available.

Im willing to bet that there's more than just apps that makes iPhone so popular. How about the best customer service. If you have any problems with any Apple products you simply take it to an Apple store and more often than not, they will replaces it there right on the spot, no questions asked . They dont even ask for a reciept!
Other minor things that keep iPhone owners happy are of course the simple clutter free interface. Easy to use, even Saint John can use it. Great camera combined with FaceTime.

Haven't wanted to switch from my blackberry either. BBM is one feature I really like. Rarely use phone or text anymore, almost everything is done thru bbm. Unlike text or phone/voice mail.......I like being able to see that somebody has received the message and when. I.e., like bbm'ing my daughter on a certain time for something........I can see whether the message was just delivered (D) or has been read (R). With the BB Torch, also like having the capability of using touchscreen or keypad.

How ridiculous will it be to get an iPhone 5 once it goes on sale?
