I've been a Raiders fan since I was 4 years old. Although I've seen it coming for awhile, still pretty shaken up by it.

At times over the past 35 years I've loved and sometimes disliked the original Raider. Thank you for the good times and the bad. Thanks for providing me with my first true love. RIP Mr. Davis.

A lot of amazing stories coming about Al now that he is gone. Behind the mystique, he seems to have been a really good man to have as a friend.

Even though the game passed him by to be involved in the organizations decisions from a football standpoint, you can't overlook how important he was into shaping the game of football in it's early years and the passion he brought to the NFL and the Raiders mystique. RIP Al. I have Oakland over Houston tomorrow in his honor.

Al Davis is one of the most significant figures in the history of the old AFL and later the NFL. I definitely agree with Travis that the game had absolutely passed him by (decades ago). The guy had absolutely no clue what he was doing in his later years. That said, he made the Raiders a team to be feared for many years. He was highly thought of by a lot of people. Belichick even felt compelled to release a statement about Davis' passing.

I liked Tom Jackson's story about his first TV assignment being to cover the Raiders practices in preseason and how they wouldn't let him in because he had played most of his career with the Broncos.

Good old Tom Jackson. Guy is a complete douche of a human being and makes friends everywhere he goes. I still love that Belichick told him to go fuck himself when Jackson tried "congratulating" Belichick for winning the Super Bowl. Of course, this was after Jackson told a story on ESPN that all of Belichick's players hated him and that there was about to be a mutiny.

I don't follow him enough to know that much about him, just what I see on ESPN occasionally. If that's the case, that's hilarious. Sounds like he probably deserved it.
