Again, another red herring just like the obesity argument. Presumably she needs to travel on public streets and highways to work, go to the doctor for her prenatal checkups, buy the necessities of life like groceries etc. Under no set of facts does she need to run a marathon. I think it's more of a "look at me" attention grab than anything. The point is, she could have exercised in the gym or done something less strenuous than running a marathon.
Let me ask you this. And put aside all of your science, statistics, and experience as a midwife.
INTUITIVELY, if you were her doctor, would you feel comfortable, morally and legally, telling her it's ok to run a marathon at 39 weeks pregnant?
I know if I were her doctor, I'd err on the side of caution there.
