I would suggest joining a credit union. Here in California you have fee free access to your cash at any 7/11 ATM or any bank's ATM that has the COOP symbol on it. You can also make deposits at most of those same ATMS and have your funds instantly available.

Gonna do something soon.i could've dealt with a five or six dollar monthly fee but i think fifteen dollars is crazy.

Blame this one on the government. Do to their totally fantastic new regulations on banks, the banks are passing on the additional costs to the consumers.

Retailers are supposed to reduce their prices the 1.5% they payed for debit card processing. Yeah!! Right!! They won't because they will have to absorb the risks of increased check writing. They had no risk with debit cards. What a game!!

Blame it on CONSUMERS!
A smart consumer knows where to go for banking with no fees,
hell I pay everything with credit card and then once the bill comes I pay the total amount off,,, I usually get about $100-$200 cashback Thank You points from Citi ,
You cant expect the government to monitor every little bank or business for fees etc . This day and age if you pay extra fees for a service you couldve gotten for free , you only have yourself to blame :)

I second that. Recently, I refinanced my auto loan through a credit union. 2.9% financing.

Another vote for credit unions.

Free checking, low rates on car loans, and mine even offers Visa and MasterCard with non-usurious interest rates.

Most banks wont do that to you (charge fees ) if you keep 35- 50 grand in there bank, and that doesnt have to be in just a savings account you could be investing that in bonds or the stock market and it still counts toward your free accounts. :D

Although, we do use a credit union and they are awesome, but so inconvenient ...
