The Farmer's almanac for our area in Arkansas predicts a worse ice storm this year than we have had in ages. I hope they are wrong. I would rather have snow any day than Ice Storms! Our electric is still high from the last one. Pretty pics though Nora! It is early for snow too! Here they are saying as early as November this year. We usually don't deal with that till Feb. Hang in there girl! :D

I'm so happy that we in Minnesota are getting a later start to winter than the last couple. I'm not ready for it. Sorry your fall is over.

Please tell me that you don't really believe "The Farmer's Almanac"? That fucker is wrong more than local weathermen, which is most of the time!

Really not ready to see this stuff yet. Pittsburgh got a fair bit of snow, but CLeveland is 50 and sunny today. That won't last for much longer :(

Oh, my! The climate is getting crazier & scarier...from day to day we don't know what the weather is gonna be. One day we are wearing winter clothes & the next summer clothes.

Actually I don't, my husband told me that tidbit. It is usually right around here though when it comes to storms. They have predicted closer than the weather channel.

Snowing to beat the band here in Boston. This is fucking nuts. I've lived through a whole lot of years in this city, and I can't say that I ever remember much snow in October, let alone two storms in three days and predictions of about a foot of snow where I live. I still have to take my kid out trick or treating (another dopey activity) on Monday.

Remember in the early 90's when Minnesota got 3 feet over Halloween and the cities didn't have the plows ready. It shut down everything and I swear the snow was still there in April. We also got hit that year with another 2 feet plus over Thanksgiving. That was a rough winter, I moved out and I like snow!

All the weather gurus/computer models are saying the upper Midwest and NE are going to have one of the worst winters in a looonnnng time. I'm still thinking about buying a generator.

I'm new to MN. This will be our third winter. I did hear on the radio that it would be colder and wetter than last year. My brain cannot even compute that. I'm still trying to understand why they seem to have winter here EVERY year.

By the way - I spent the first 40+ years of my life in So Cal.

Oh, and ANOTHER thing:

Mark and I went to get Duchess Take-Out for dinner; no power.

WELL, GUESS WHAT?

We must've been on a different "power grid" or something...
...because the BOTTOM of the hill and the rest of the area HAD POWER.

AND, my parents, who live 20 minutes away, had absolutely no problems whatsoever.

Go figure.

I'd give anything to get just a little bit of that kind of weather. Until yesterday, we haven't been lower than the 90's and before we dropped into the 90's (about 2 weeks ago...) we hadn't been lower than 100 in over 100 days!  God I can't wait to get the fuck out of this state and this region of the country! 8)

Damn that sucks. Gives me flashbacks of when Hurricane Ike came through here. I was out of power for 3 weeks and my parents house was out for 5 weeks. Good luck, dude. Hope it comes back on soon for you.

We got lucky this time we did not loose power. Lost the satellite for about 18 hours that was all.

I am sure we will be in the same boat before winter is over.

Hope you are back up an running soon! I have a friend in CT that is still without power.

Hardly any snow here in Fairfield County, but, in New Milford - in the upper part of CT where I used to live - they had 18 INCHES!
