What do you bring to a forum?

Postby artist4perry » Thu Nov 03, 2011 8:28 am

GOT GAME?

Nope. I sure don't.

I have no need to impress anyone with my rapier wit or status on a board.

If you must validate yourself by how well you rip apart others I have to wonder if it is game, or just lame.

I define having Game as who is ready to help folks like Rick with the computers and a few others with computer skills on here. You definitely got SKILLS. Thanks for sharing yours with those of us who need some tech advice.

To those who have medical knowledge who sometimes give great advice to help those who are trying to get over something they cannot seem to get well from. You definitely got HEART.

To those who make us laugh, GI and his weird vids, Nora and her Bugs thang, and though I have not heard from her in a while Lorrie and her bus pass stories. Thanks. You really give us SMILES.

To those who are trying to make it in music, sharing your trials, triumphs, and tunes. You have MUSIC.

To those who are fans, who love to share their adventures, encounters, and love of their band. You give us INSIGHTS.

To those who are just cool, because they treat everyone else with respect. Your the most impressive of all to me. You have SELF ASSURANCE AND STYLE.

TO A BIG CUDDLY WOMBAT WHO LANDS A COOL INTERVIEW WITH STEVE PERRY HIMSELF. Your O.K.      :P

Maui Tom please don't read this as a slam. I was just thinking today about what you said about having GAME. Having Game does not mean being an A-#$$% to folks. It means your alright as a person. I never cared for cliques, and bullies, or jerks in school, I am by all means not impressed by them as an adult. Those people who remain that way as adults just never grew up really. They still need validation from people too small minded to think for themselves.

Now I am not talking about friends joking around ragging each other. That is a totally different thing.

O.K. Climbing down from my soapbox. Anyone got a ladder? I am a short lady.

Be a reasonable person and do things my way!

I have opinions like every other swinging cock or clam on this planet and if you don't like what I have to say, well fuck ya very much and have a nice day.

A forum is an outlet and what I may say here may not reflect the kind of person I am in real life. I'm not here looking for relationships. At times I might be real
or phony as hell, depending on my perception of the person I'm interacting with.

I recently had lunch with a friend. We usually just relax and have a lot of fun conversation. But, she was so stressed out from life and work that it just wasn't the same. I felt bad for her and sent her an Email later and told her, among other things, not to stretch herself so thin that she loses who she is,,,because that is her greatest asset, IMO, and being the best "you" that you can be should be enough for anybody.

I think what you are getting at is many people are not really true to themselves here and try to be something else online. But, I've known that for an extremely long time...and mostly ignore it nowadays and just play the "game" as you say.

But, the best people, the truly 'good' people, don't need to try to be something else because people enjoy them for who they really are...they don't need "game", because it's not a pretend fantasyland to them.

That's how I see things anyways.

Pretty much same here. #1 thing that is different here than in real life is that I am not confrontational. The only time you really see me confrontational on these boards is when provoked or in the much heated NFL Thread (because that's my absolute #1 passion and the #1 thing really enjoy in life, my absolute greatest hobby.) Other than that, I wouldn't get confrontational in a NFL discussion in real life. Completely different feel when you're with someone face to face. I like to call it respect. By the nights end, you'd figure me out to be more interested in you than I'd like to talk about myself. Other than that, You'll see me taking pictures with everyone, laughing and having a good time. Always try to brighten the mood and make the best out of my experiences.

 No. But whether it be a live show, cd, dvd......I absolutely love me some great rock. Haha, must have been born with an extra groove gene or something, cuz I find it physically impossible to stand or sit still if I totally dig a song......especially some great bluesy rock. Groovin' right now...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDwr63QVzJA

I can't sing to save my life and can't play any instruments, but sure appreciate the hell out of vocalists/musicians that can and do it well!

So Steveo what is the purpose of what you do? Why be someone your not?

What I never understand is a person hiding behind a computer keyboard and basically just messing with folks because you get some sick kick out of it. :? How does that reflect on a person? What does it say about your real motivations?

Wow, I never expected anyone to respond to this really. I just know when some people mess with folks on here, we lose good posters and friends, all over a sick need to just be a jerk. :? Hiding behind a keyboard to hurt people is messed up.

And no I would rather not have you f me. I have a husband for that job thank you very much. :P :P :P :P

That is what I am saying in a nutshell. I cannot stop someone from doing what they do. But as far as having any respect for their actions that is another matter. The coolest folks are secure in their own skin. Now I am not saying anyone cannot stand up for themselves, you have to sometimes.

I am not perfect by no means, and I get mad sometimes and say things I shouldn't. I am not saying don't be human. I am just referring to people being real. Does that make any sense?

There certainly are some things I say here that I wouldn't necessarily say face-to-face with someone. I don't think that means someone's not being real but I do think there is a different standard of conduct when you're face to face with someone as opposed to interacting on a forum like this. Of course, that doesn't mean you're not being real. Of course, I sometimes say something stupid or out of place, and have to apologize. There's nothing wrong with that and I think it actually makes you more real.

I'm not one to watch it every weekend nor attend Star Wars conventions, but I do love Star Wars. I did watch all of the movies at the midnight showing, although I wasn't part of this crowd:
