Love it.

Neal dominated on the ax that day.

It featured bands like Mötley Crüe, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Quiet Riot, Twisted Sister, Journey, Blue Öyster Cult. And like the poppier efforts, this was a African famine relief charity effort during a time when music still could make a difference. So whatever happened to the Hear N' Aid single that was known simply as Stars? It faded away. But good news. It's coming back on on DVD and CD, thanks to the widow of Ronnie James Dio. To hear him pull that song off and try to cover the huge chorus on his own admirably is a testament to how great he was. As Saint John has posted rightfully "No one did it better at that level for so long". Paraphrasing but he was right.

That's how everyone who's a Dio fan feels. I've never heard that Dio band live version of "Stars" before, either. It sounds great. That's a really catchy tune, too. I love that David St. Hubbins (Micheal McKean) and Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer) are in the original, too. Hee, hee.

Maiden was on tour so no Dickinson, but I'm surprised Geddy & Alex or at least Alex didn't show up, or Rik Emmett of Triumph. Rik's one of the best soloists of that time period, too.

But shit, Eric Bloom and Buck Dharma got down there!

At one point RJD was my first concert and last were RJD (Heaven and Hell) Almost wanted to keep it that way.

I heard Wendy Dio wants to get this re-released.

Wow WTH!? All these years I thought that was Rudy Sarzo in that clip, but it's Craig Goldy from Guffria!

Schon, Gillis, Lynch and Malmsteen were the obvious highlights of the song.

Yes. I've read where many of the guitarists that played on that song have said that Schon's was the best performance.

That was the consensus, but I still like Lynch's solo the best. Neal's was badass, though.

No need to apologize man. Im sorry you dont appreciate great music. Its all about personal opinions. My opinion is that Neal is not even one-dimentional. He is nothing but an average guitar player with a bunch of solos oozing more cheese than a double cheeseburger with extra cheese
You prefer his music, I prefer Yngwie's. Thats as I said all about personal opinion. However if you wanna break down skills, step by step, Yngwie beats Neal in every category.

I also should mention good old S2M brought up Yngwie only to try to "get even" with me over that Chaz Bono pic But its all good, I listen to Yngwie, he enjoys Dancing With Stars.

I love Malmsteen's playing. I just like more diverse playing the majority of the time. I do have a few of Malmsteen's albums.

I also love Tony Macalpine's playing.

Have you ever heard the guitarist Neil Zaza? Ask him who his favorite guitarist used to be. And then ask him who his current favorite guitarist is.
