NEVER guess who rode with me today!!!

I was part of the Veterans Day parade here in Columbia today (as I have for the last 11 years), and my job was supposed to be driving our Adjutant General (who is the parade's Marshall) from the podium to the front of the parade where he got into an up-armored HUMVEE. I saw him approaching the vehicle, and had my PVT get out, render the salute and open the door for him. Out of nowhere, I see a Secret Service Agent open the back door of my Hummer and in comes Governor Rick Perry! I looked like this...
I ended up escorting him, his Secret Service Agent, and our AG to the front of the parade which was about 10 blocks away. He was very nice, but all I could think about was his debate blunder the other night. It was awesome to get to see him, and he shook my hand and thanked me for my service. I also had our Congressman Joe Wilson (Mr. "YOU LIE!!!") come up to me and hand me a business card today. I think that's the 4th one he's given me.
I just had to share, because it turned out to be a pretty awesome day. I also had the police chief from the city of Columbia ride with me through the parade. VERY fun day, and I'd like to thank all of our vets today!!! Without you and your service, we wouldn't have what we have today in this country.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
