Adam Lambert and Queen........

He did a killer performance w/Queen at the MTV European Music Awards............ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbId9PSg ... re=related .......not much live footage available (viacom pulling it down as fast as it goes up  ), lots of audio though.

Interview with Adam, Roger and Brian after the show, they seem pretty tight...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8qxmuQ6 ... re=related

I think it was at one of the last award shows when asked about his next album, he said it was going to be more leather than glam. So I'm assuming more rock than pop. Hope that's the case, I think he's got the pipes to put out a great rock album.

Deb there is live footage on Adam Official.com about half way down. It is the whole medley with Queen. Evidently, Adam may have rights but all the others that were live were taken down.

Nope - video's been taken down everywhere except the MTV site. Entire show can be seen here, Queen/Lambert clips are 59 and 60:

Thanks squirt1 - yes, I know it's there but when I click play I get the 'video is no longer available due to copyright claim by Viacom . . .' That's OK, watched it on the MTV site. He did a great job!

Guess you'll have to cross the border to watch  . The video player comes up for me immediately, a 30 sec ad plays and then the show starts. Below the player is a filmstrip with all the numbered clips. That's what I see, anyway.

I guess Ed was able to see it if he's puking

This guy is about as relevant as Pauley Shore dressed as Vanilla Ice wearing Z. Cavaricci's while making a call on a rotary phone - while that dude from 'Dude, You're getting a Dell' is making out with Downtown Julie Brown on a nearby couch.....

Billboard is reporting that Queen is negotiating with Adam to tour. Roger Taylor spoke to them so it must have credibility.

So what's up with that tribute group project they were hyping, and Roger's statement that they were getting too old to tour?

I vote JSS for Queen...

I listened to one of the performances..."The Show Must Go On". Technically, he sounded good but the vibrato is too over the top and he sounded pretty soulless, in my opinion.

My first choice too, that Queen dvd of his is one of my favorites......he nails so many of those songs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utVAlX3soxU

Adam's good too, I would be ok with either one.

Just picked the winners today:

http://blogs.edmontonjournal.com/2011/1 ... ravaganza/

Crowning the winners of Queen Extravaganza

Edmonton barista and father of two, Ty Martin, isn’t one of the champions of Queen Extravaganza. The local singer was vying for a part in a Queen tribute band, but failed to make the final cut after Monday’s round of auditions. The tryouts, judged by Queen’s drummer Roger Taylor, took place at the Foo Fighters’ studio in Los Angeles, Calif.

Three other Canadians — Montreal vocalist Marc Martel, Quebec City bassist Francois-Olivier Doyon, and guitarist Tristan Avakian — are part of the winning lineup which will tour in 2012.

Martel’s selection was a no-brainer. One of his audition videos notched more than five million views on YouTube. He’ll be sharing vocal duties with Texas native Jennifer Espinoza.

Queen guitarist Brian May will help rehearse the members of the tribute band before their tour. In the meantime, May and Taylor are reportedly in talks to tour with former American Idol contestant Adam Lambert as their frontman.

”He has grown into a really great performer with an astonishing voice with a range that’s great,” Taylor told Billboard.com. “We would like to work with him again. There’s nothing signed just yet but we’re talking about live dates. It could be very exciting.”

Queen’s original frontman, Freddie Mercury, died in 1991.

This guy was one of the finalists. Didn't much care for his Freddie (he's Turkish and - gasp - he has an accent that can be heard at times  ). But he does a pretty decent Scorpions cover, bad audio and all:
