When Love Takes You In

I've heard this song by Steven Curtis Chapman before...Really hits home for me since our daughter is adopted. If anyone's not familiar with the story, the Chapmans have adopted at least two orphans from China (maybe more?). One of the little girls was hit and killed by a vehicle driven by one of their older sons on their own property. Anyway, they started an organization called Shaohannah's Hope to help assist couples to adopt orphans internationally (and domestically, I think). It's now called "Show Hope" and they've assisted hundreds, if not thousands, of couples to adopt orphans when they might not have been able to do so otherwise.

I know you’ve heard the stories
But they all sound too good to be true
You’ve heard about a place called home
But there doesn’t seem to be one for you
So one more night you cry yourself to sleep
And drift off to a distant dream

Where love takes you in and everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in

And somewhere while you’re sleeping
Someone else is dreaming, too
Counting down the days until
They hold you close and say I love you
And like the rain that falls into the sea
In a moment what has been is lost in what will be

When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart

And this love will never let you go
There is nothing that could ever
cause this love to lose its hold

When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in it takes you in for good
When love takes you in

I recall hearing about that. What a beautiful song!

One of my best friends can't have kids. I was there for her as she went through 2 adoptions that fell thru (one the teen mother changed her mind right at the end). To see her and her hubby, two people who couldn't but wanted to be parents more than anything go through what they did was heartbreaking. They finally adopted a (premie) son.......I remember when I got her call saying "Deb, I'm a MOMMY!".............my eyes tear up even thinking of that phone call. I rushed up to the hospital and have to say my heart has never been so full of "happy" for someone!
