He absolutely deserves a nomination. Honestly though, in this musical world we live in now, I have more respect for the artists who are never nominated for those crappy awards. Seeing Kanye West get the most nominations is all I need to see to realize what area of "music" they cater too.

It's turned into a popularity contest. It's not really about the quality of the music anymore.

It hasn't been about the quality of music for years, damn shame.

A little bit of honesty there, I like it and think he's go a point...but complaining's not going to help...surprised he would post something like that, was that on his personal FB or his musician/fan page?

Gotcha...that's cool then...none of the musician's musicians are getting recognized...seems to have been a downward trend for some time...the degeneration of music...rock and roll won't die though, it seems to always come back - unfortunately in the flavor of bands like nickelback...

One of the worst rock bands ever.

They get alot of hate, but they're still making millions...maybe they will go away soon?

I'm not a big fan but I really, really like some of their songs: "Hero", "If Today Was Your Last Day", and "Burn it to the Ground".

Self-worth comes from inside. This tells me Joe in an extremely insecure person.

Yeah, this doesn't really garner any support for him from me. I agree with him but it just seems kinda petty and so not worth while to even discuss.

i think it is about time a talented musician, who sells album after album and sold out show after sold out show, steps up to the plate and voices his opinion on the Grammy situation. Maybe, if more of the real talent out there did this, there could be a change in the system and it wouldn't be the popularity contest it is.

It seems if he had a normal job, he would be one of those guys that goes around the office chronically complaining that he never gets validated for all of the hard works he does.
My response to that is your validation is your paycheck, anything beyond that is just icing on the cake.
If you really need something to put up on your "I love me" mantel, perhaps select another career with lower goal posts.

One little paragraph tells you that?
The dude was a child guitar prodigy, he's sold out Royal Albert Hall, and nowadays he rocks it with GLENN HUGHES.
I doubt he's anything but "insecure."

I don't necessarily agree with Sean on this but being a child guitar prodigy and a star doesn't preclude being insecure.

Awesome posts. Awesome threads....great insight. I never get any respect in this place. No one ever agrees with me! Over 11,000 posts. You'd think at least
one of my posts would be heralded, right??????????????

The initial post from Joe doesn't preclude it from being anything more than an average morning rant while waiting for coffee.

He tweeted his thoughts as well. Personally a Grammy these days doesn't means whole lot anymore....with the caliber of "artists" that win them he should be honored not to be associated with them.

I wonder if he'd like some cheese and crackers to go with that whine.

Pick up the 2 Black Country Communion records he plays on. Some of the best hard rock being made today.

I don't think Joe's insecure, but I think after all he's accomplished, and as hard as he works (he routinely tours and plays an average of 200 gigs a year for the last 10 years,) it's tough to constantly be ignored by the mainstream music industry. This year alone Joe recorded a highly acclaimed solo album, BCC 2 and a killer collaboration with Beth Hart. Plus he's played as a guest artist on several other's. He's respected by top musicians all over the world, and yet he can't get a gig on Letterman, Fallon, Leno, Conan etc. He's ignored by Rolling Stone or Spin magazine who have never even reviewed one of his albums, after awhile you just start to wonder what it takes to get some notice. I can understand his frustration and I believe it's fully justified.
