I can't help but wonder if it will be tied into the new album somehow a la the Journey and Foreigner Wal-Mart releases.

Looks like this "video" could have been produced by some kid in a closet.

I'm a huge fucking Halen fan so with this news I couldn't be more happy that they are releasing new music. The very sad part of the whole deal has been waiting for 30 years for it. The sad part is not having Michael Anthony back for a true reunion, complete with his trademark JD bass. The sad part is the petty ass bickering that has caused this to happen and have taken away from us fans the music that could have been. There is no doubt in my mind that they can put out some great music, after all, EVH is the last of the GREAT guitarist in rock.

P.S. This is going to sell like a motherfucker!

I am very curious how well this album is going to sound without MA's backing vocals.

I can't believe how little chatter there is about this here! I'm used to the Journey board, where if one of the band members farts it's a four-page post. I don't love the "soft" roll out of information the band seems to be doing. Van Halen is bombast! That train graphic Andrew has posted is outstanding, and classic VH in every sense of the word. But that video should have been set to new music. Period. I can't wait to see what the band is FINALLY letting loose upon this world. I don't think anything will be able to live up to the bar that Diamond Dave-era VH set, but I would love to be surprised. My fingers are crossed.

Along with Kiss and DL, Van Halen is my fav. band. Having waited almost 30 years for a DLR fronted VH, I am excited and hope it kicks some major ass. I would like nothing more than to see that happen. But, 28 years is a long time and my vibe is more of a "cautiously optimistic" one. But I hope it will be in the vein of "Fair Warning" or "Women and Children First" but it will probably be more of an "1984" approach which I can stomach.

VH is the band that got me into music in the first place (thanks to an old friend giving me the 1984 cassette for my 10th b-day gift). But, after DLR leaving, then Sammy coming and eventually leaving, Cherone in and out, then Sammy back and gone w/ MA, then DLR finally back, then no MA for the reunion tour, bringing Wolfie in full time, I'm sick of their BS. Am I the only one? Everyone and their brother is now all ga-ga over them all of a sudden.

I think they should be on Bravo. They'd fit in with all the Housewives drama type shows.

Will I buy the album? Of course. See them live? Not sure. $175 last time without MA was pushing it. I wasn't blown away and honestly, DLR solo is a good fix of the vintage stuff. It just seems that so many people have been dogging them for a long, long time and now that something new is coming those same people want to make out with them again.

Just wait until Axl announces he will play with Slash & Duff @ the RRHOF.......

The BS I was tired of was the 28 years of petty ass bickering that kept them apart. The BS I am tired of is Sammy whining, bitching, crying about VH ever since he left. I'm fucking ecstatic that I'm finally getting NEW music from them. Along with New albums by Kiss, ZZ Top, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith coming in 2012, it makes for a good year. Now, I can only hope Water's and Gilmour can put aside their difference's and put out a classic Pink Floyd album. And don't ever mention GNR with these GREAT bands, it's a fucking insult.

My personal opinion, is "JUMP" ON BOARD people! These things don't happen all that often. Look at all the musicians we have lost over the years. You snooze on this you looze.

Oh MA is not in this band. How many bands from the 70s or 80's have all original members still in them? A guy above mentions KISS. Come on, talk about the BS....everybadn has BS.......like reading the Great White BS? It is every where. I posted somewhere, that if you had to pick one original member for the band to be without and it had to be one.....most would take MA. Some might take DLR, but those people are Sammy fans.....Van Halen is Van Halen with DLR fronting the band....PERIOD! The Van Hagar stuff was just that Van Hagar.

So glad VH is back. Can not wait for that train to come....because I am boarding! Happy New Year Everyone!

Yeah, but the anger over MA's absence is because of how it was handled. Lots of bands change members, but not many kick founding members out in the way MA was booted out of Van Halen. If Anthony had been the asshole, or been too fucked up to perform, or had a giant ego, no one would be that upset. But Anthony goes out of his way to be one of the nicest guys in rock, and still got royally shit on by the Van Halen brothers.

This will ALWAYS be the thing that makes this "reunion" less than it could have been. Shame, really.

Van Halen returns next Tuesday with “Tattoo,” the first single from their forthcoming album.

The VHND reports that one week from today, Van Halen will release “Tattoo” as the project’s lead track.

The band’s first album with David Lee Roth in 28 years arrives February 7 – still no word on the record’s title.

The site also says the 2012 Van Halen tour starts in February, with opening night happening in Louisville, Kentucky.

The full list of tour dates for the first leg of shows should be revealed soon - anytime between now and when the tickets go on sale January 10.

Some media are getting an advance preview of VH 2012 as the band plays a private show this Thursday at the 25-seat Café Wha? in New York City.

I concur. Listen to a band who actually plays their instruments live and has fun while doing it instead of listening to a band who pipes MA's backing vocals in through the PA system during a concert and hasn't released a good album since 1992.

Long Live Hagar! Long Live MA!

I liked the Van Hagar stuff, well except Balance. I didn't care for that album all that much outside of 7th Seal, Don't Tell Me, Can't Stop Lovin' You, and Feelin'. Not Enough was alright when it was in the beginning of the songs with Sammy and Ed, but when the rest of the band started playing it ruined the mood of the song.
