I work at a Kmart and I must say that this doesn't surprise me.

There aren't any Kmarts in this area anymore so I don't really know what their prices are. That's surprising to hear that they're higher than Wal-Mart or Target. I was just quoting Rainman. :D

We haven't had any K-Marts here for years, so no loss. We have a Sears at the mall, but nobody seems to buy electronics or tools there much anymore.

Sears is not that good. Every appliance I have bought from them started acting up the second the warranty wore out. Also they sold us a brand new fridge with a bad seal and it took us a year to get it resolved. And I mean me being on the phone getting the royal run around time after time! Bad service will get your company a bad rep in no time.

K-Mart used to really be the budget store around here until Wal Mart and Big China took off. For the past several years, it's been synonymous with 'horrible'. Dirty looking stores, tons of stock without clearly marked prices (drives me nuts), understaffed... they suck. Time to go...

Sears, I've always liked. Kenmore appliances are manufactured and rebranded by other major companies like Whirlpool, etc, and I've never personally had any issues with them. Don't shop there much anymore, but like Sears.

You must have a better Sears than we have. But our store is so small it is no wonder they did a crappy job. I am sure LR has better stores. :D

I buy all my tires at Sears and pay a little extra for the road hazard warranty as I am "technically challenged." This last time out one of my car's tires developed a slow leak over which time it took me THREE weeks and three visits before I could get them to honor their warranty. First visit, the tire tech looked at my car's tire and said no, it's fine. I took his word for it thinking maybe my eyes were bad. The next week the same tire is lower still and the car's air pressure light has come on. showed it to the tire tech again and got the same response, the tire pressure is fine. The air pressure light probably came on due to the change in weather. It wasn't until the third and final visit with the tire practically flat that a different tech took one look and said oh, that tire is definately flat. Turns out the tire had a nail in it. Stupid me for taking the initital's tech word for it. I am lucky my car didn't have a blow out.

Sears has some decent products but never buy your tires from there or the Chinese connection (walmart). The techs there are paid like the lowly idiots that they are. For most, it's their first job. Plus, if you think your tire has a leak and your AP light comes on, get a spray bottle, fill it with water and some dish washing detergent, spray it over the tire in small sections and if you see some bubbles coming up you have a leak. Plus, next time take your car to the dealership where you bought it or one that's nearby. They are more experienced.

Sears and Kmart would do a lot better if they kept their shelves stocked. If I had a dollar for every time I had to tell a customer that they were out of something, I wouldn't have to work anymore. Kmart and Sears lose millions of dollars in sales that way. One articles I read said that their stores are uninviting and they're absolutely right. The Kmart in my area looks the same way it did when it opened 15 years ago.

The biggest problem that I noticed is that they have too much stock of stuff nobody wants and not enough stock of items that are popular. Craftsman is the only thing about them that I like. I have always liked Craftman tools, they're built well and last a very long time.

There's a Sears Grand around the corner from me. I stop in there if I need something small really quick, like an auxiliary A/V cord. Otherwise, I never go in there. I don't see what it has to offer.

The one advantage Kmart has over China-Mart and Target...Year-Round Layaway! ...But, I never take advantage of it, because their electronics department only carries low-end garbage. Otherwise, I'd put better use of it.

That's the sad part, even with my employee discount I can still get the same thing at Walmart for a cheaper price. Besides, there are so many strings attached with that discount that I'm not really saving much.

Sears is one of the most expensive place to buy tires. When I was in the market for new tires for my Mustang, I checked there just for the heck of it. They were almost $100 more per tire than what the Ford dealership was for the same tire. Ridiculous!

Believe it or not I shopped around and Sears was the cheapest. I have a Hyundai. If I went to the dealership there is no telling what I'd pay for tires.
