Adam touring with Queen was on MTV and another site. Before anyone says he is replacing Mercury, he is the ultimate fan. I hope they come to the U S .

What a fabulous opportunity for this very talented young man.

I'm sure these gigs will be amazing.

He has the theatrical flamboyance and vocal excellence to make a great show.

Obviously nobody can replace Freddie, Paul Rodgers didn't try to and those shows worked well - no reason why these can't.

I refuse to pay a dime to see an A.I. karaoke singer front Queen if this ever does happen.

There must be some deal that he still keeps his solo career, because he just released his new album. I'm sure he is going to tour in support of that album, also, but set his solo tour around Queen's tour schedule, I guess. That would make for a busy year for Adam, two different tours.

Didn't Andrew dispel this rumor though?

From what I've read, it will be less than a dozen shows with Queen, possibly only two or three.

Normally I would agree with you, but I saw his performances on A.I and thought he was an amazing talent. I enjoyed watching him and listening to his interpretation of songs.
He seemed to bring something different to each of his performances and was a refreshing change from the usual "desperate to be on tv and desperate to be a star without having any talent" kind of contestant.

And if we are calling him a karaoke singer, then so must we call Arnel.....shouldn't we?

And because each of his performances was so different and entertaining, I can imagine that transferred to a live show and think it would be a very theatrical and entertaining event.

I think the shows could be spectacular.

Queen and glam go together. One of my favourite memories of live gigs was Freddie camping it up with a feather Boa to "Hey Big Spender."

Yes, I think this team up could work rather well.

And I think Freddie might approve.

I didn't say it.

I did go to see Queen + Paul Rodgers and really enjoyed that. Anyone that comes off the godforsaken reality contest second rate Star Search I hate. Period.

Give the lad a chance, AR - he really was outstanding.

I hate all that AI, X Factor stuff - well, I would do wouldn't I? I slog my guts out travelling all over in a Transit van, schlepping to gigs all over the UK to earn a crust and then these shows come along with talentless wannabe's taking all the limelight and making millions when they can't even sing in tune etc.
Yeh, I hate hate hate all that - but I saw something different in Adam Lambert.

Maybe you will too if you look beyond the vehicle he used to gain our attention.

What I'm saying is, don't hold the Talent Show against him, he is more than that.

Would it help you if you knew he was in the music business for quite a while before AI? He wasn't one of those kids that had never done a thing. I am a big fan of Chris Daughtry, and he came off there.

Exactly.

A few good ones have been sifted out from the crap.
It's just that the crap gets the most publicity so you'd think that's all there is.

And didn't Kelly Clarkson come through a talent show too?

I haven't seen all the series of AI, but I did watch the one Adam Lambert was on. He stood out from the rest for me.

We'll get AR to come around to our way of thinking.

ADAM LAMBERT TO SING WITH QUEEN

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/ ... r-20120203

By Rolling Stone
February 3, 2012 2:20 PM ET Adam Lambert performs with Queen onstage during the MTV Europe Music Awards in Belfast.Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagicAdam Lambert is reportedly singing with Queen, replacing the American Idol winner's own late idol, Freddie Mercury. Lambert broke the news to the U.K.'s Daily Star.

"The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some fucking great songs," he said. "It's to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would've been proud of." Queen previously toured with former Bad Company singer Paul Rodgers taking Mercury's place.

Speculation has been high since Lambert was joined by surviving Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor during his Idol finals appearance in 2009. In November, they performed together at the MTV EMAs in Belfast.

Lambert said he had no intention of replacing Mercury, who died in 1991. "That's impossible," he said. "The way I'm choosing to view it is that it's a great honor and one I'm in no way going to shirk." Lambert's second solo album, Trespassing, is due in March.

A representative for Hollywood Records tells Rolling Stone, "The Daily Star item only mentions that Adam may perform with Queen at Sonisphere. This is not confirmed. Nothing has been signed. However, if this were to happen, Queen would be returning to the setting of their final concert with Freddie Mercury, which took place in 1986."

Lambert took to Twitter to clarify his comments. "Them clever reporters takin my quotes outta context ... I haven't confirmed any guest appearances. I was talking about the EMAs," he tweeted. "That being said, I'm truly flattered by your jump to such glorious conclusions."

Wow Stevo would you say that to Freddy????? To Susie - Adam has your Queen answers on You Tube- Adam Lambert talks past Fashion Faux Pas - and he will sing again with Queen this year. Last year he toured China, Russia and Europe and the 1st song off his new album which comes out in March had 2.5 million downloads a few weeks back. So, I think that once in a generation powerful voice is a worldwide star already like Simon Cowell predicted.

Lambert is a karaoke singer. Freddie was a legend. Fuck you for even comparing the two.

AR- Where do you get your mindset? Mercury was a one of a kind and if you would read up Adam's favorite. But the last I checked he passed Brian's & Roger's approval rating to continue the music . So your opinion to them is zero, goose egg, nothing in their plans. Just don't go. How about that for an option ?

All this is, is just enough shows to get enough recorded material for a dvd/blu ray product. Nothing wrong with that I suppose and it will probably sell ok.

I wouldn't pay a dime to see any fucktard from American Idol do anything.

Mercury was a one of a kind and if you would read up Adam's favorite

And the idiot from Home Depot fronting Boston was a huge Brad Delp fan. Doesn't change the fact that it's pathetic.

At the end of the day, all that should matter is if the person in question can give a credible take on the songs.

A legendary band going on tour with a game show contest winner is laughable.

Perry worked in farm construction, Arnel lived on the streets, Augeri worked at the Gap.
Is it the prestige or the voice that counts?

As long as Lambert can sing the songs credibly and bring an element of showmanship to the band, I see nothing wrong with it.

Being discovered on a game show singing other people's songs is not very rock and roll. American Idol and shows of it's ilk are putrid. It's embarrassing to a band of Queen's stature to to go the road of INXS.

When Led Zeppelin destroys their legacy and gets someone off one of these shows to replace Robert Plant the world will have truly come to an end. :?

Personally I blame women for this.

Behshad- The reason Adam didn't win is AT & T employees were holding parties in Kris Allen's state showing them how to vote 10 times with one button & multiple 10 votes besides. Look AI is a farce, but as national exposure for some free publicity it serves a purpose , although they tie up those kids to tour for a year. AR as far as Led Zep I would never see them if Plants voice is over and he has sounded bad in the last few years. Same goes for Journey and that fiasco with Perry, Styx w/o Dennis De Young, never Aerosmith w/o Tyler or Survivor w/o Jimi Jamieson . He sang the hits altough Bickler Eye of the Tiger- had the last laugh with the Real men of Genius Bud Light commercials. Kansas -I want to hear Steve Walsh & Boston I would probably see with DeCarlo because of the circumstances of Brad's death. These guys are my age and so it eventually has to end. Music was blessed in the 80's with bands that could play complicated music which they wrote and singers that were exceptional. I will see Queen because I want to relive that sound and Adam is maybe the only one that can sing note to note with Mercury with the same power.

Yes George could have done it.

I still think Adam Lambert will do a good job.

And good on Brian and Roger for giving him a wonderful opportunity.
