REGULAR SEASON
162 games in 128 days (not including off days)
Every day when 10 or more MLB games are played, we will have a game
There will be one doubleheader each weekend for the first six weekends of the regular season, and then two each weekend (in other words, two on Saturday and two on Sunday) for each remaining weekend until the end of the fantasy regular season. There are no doubleheaders in the playoffs.

The standings and schedules are kept on a separate site, here:

http://www.leaguelineup.com/standings_baseball.asp?url=flexcapacitors&sid=169422269&divisionid=308891

Three leagues, each with its own player pool. Full interleague play. Four teams in each division, two divisions total, for a total of 8 teams each league. Total of 24 teams.

Each team plays its 3 division rivals 14 times for a total of 42 division games. Each team plays every other team in every league six times for a total of 120 non-division games.

The conference champions each receive a first round bye and a guarantee of home field advantage through the quarterfinals. The other three division winners receive only a guarantee of home field for the first round. In the pool of all three leagues, the division winner with the 4th best record also gets a first round bye.

The teams with the 5th through 10th best records all qualify for the playoffs. The teams with the 11th through 14th best records will play a 3-game wild card series. The winners of the wild card series will advance to what will then be the pool of 8 teams (with the aforementioned four division champions getting byes) in the eighth-finals.

The four winners of those series will then be pitted against the top four division winners in the quarterfinals. Those winners will advance to the semifinals, with the winners of the semifinals advancing to the championship series.

I've heard fantasy baseball is an absurd amount of work.

Nah. I actually update my team every day, but I know a lot of guys who only check in 2-3 times per week and are very successful.

My husband, Comedyisnotpretty aka Danny loves fantasy baseball, I will have him check out this thread. I don't know if he would be interested or not.

Trust me, you'll like this one. We still have 3 spots available. The core group of 10-12 guys has been doing this since 1999.

Four questions for you on the ESPN fantasy league: 1) How much does it cost? 2) Could you please explain the scoring system? 3) How many players are there on each roster? and 4) How many players are used in the starting lineup counting starting pitchers? Relief pitchers? and position players?

Let's see...

1) No cost. This is strictly for fun, and bragging rights. Some of us have been in this league together since the late 90's.

2) The scoring system is points based, but there are head to head matchups every day. Hence, the 162 games. The settings are a pretty good balance between hitting and pitching.

3) 8 teams in each league (with its own separate player pool) and a 28-man roster. Max of 10 SP, 6 RP, and 15 position players.

4) Daily: 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, three OF, C, UTIL. 3 SP slots, 3 RP slots, and one all purpose P slot.
