Just when my day felt like it couldn't get much worse

Picture this... a migraine headache and loud screaming kids in a teeny tiny trailer room for hours in a day. The migraine doesn't let up, if anything it gets intense. Tylenol is all I had, and it was not working. To add to it some of my little girls feel they have to yell above everyone else to be heard. I remind them to please keep it to inside voices. They are K-4th grade level, and they are normal kids so what can you do?...Suck it up and love them in spite of it all.
I came home and put a thing on my facebook about how 4th graders and migraines do not mix. A few minutes later one of my former students comes on the thread and told me they hope my headache gets better, to hang in there, and told me I was a kick butt teacher and they missed me very much.
*insert tears of joy here*
I cannot tell you what it is like to go into Walmart or Hays and have students grab their parents hands and point to me with the biggest smile on their face and say "MOM! MOM! THAT IS MRS. GINGER! SHE'S MY ART TEACHER! MOM! MOM!"
Or to have former students see me on the street and run to hug me, and tell me they miss me.
I had a pretty crappy day. I felt like crap, and my arthritis has been hounding my back for three days making walking and normal activity severely painful.
Amazing how your students can make you forget all about those things.
I love my job. These kids make teaching a pleasure.
