Never say you're sorry

I was told here by Dan I think you should never say you're sorry.

But I don't live by those rules. I just want to say if I have done or said anything to anyone that was rude I apologize. I never mean to hurt anyone. I am a very peace loving person.

Sometimes in the heat of an argument I have said things I would probably have never said if I had time to have cooled off. I try not to make a habit of that but I am quite human and I am far from perfect.

Sometimes people find out your a christian and when you have a moment where you say something not so Christian in nature it cannot ever be taken back. All I can ask for is forgiveness and make a stronger effort to be more careful not to make those mistakes again.

I am not a perfect person, never have been, and probably never will be. I am trying very hard to be a decent person, a loving person for the most part. I tend to joke a lot and many times my joking is misinterpreted. I never said I was a good comedian. But I try at the most to be a good friend.

I have made some great friends here. I think the world of you. As for those I disagreed with strongly...I disagreed with Deano quite often, but I still loved him. I never measure a friend by how much they have to agree with me. If we only listen to yes men, we make ourselves the fools. Have a great night folks.

I used to live in a world..that by saying your sorry...I saw it as a sign of weakness.
After losing 3 loved ones within a short period of time..it brought me to my knees & I reassessed
my life...
What I thought was important then...has no place in my life now...
We are who we are & that is human in nature..We all make mistakes & if I wrong someone
or ..which I hope I didn't in the first place...I will apologize..
On the net its sometimes hard to see what emotion was intended for a joke....
so we need to immediately not jump at wrong conclusions..but laugh ...
Just saying...be who we are....

Dan may have said it to you?!? Don/G~boy usually says it and I've always
understood him to mean that if you're going to say/have an opinion about something,
do it with conviction, stand behind it, don't be wishy~washy changing your
mind w/each new opinion and don't be sorry about it. Also, not saying something you
don't mean in the first place. I suppose, in that respect, it would be a sign of weakness.
I've always loved this^^^^it's a forum and not everyone will agree w/you all the time.
That's also where Lube~up comes from ...you know I love that!

I must've missed something?!?

I agree that it's bad to say "your sorry." It makes much more sense to say "you're sorry."

Never saying you're sorry or never admitting you were wrong is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

Saying sorry is easy.

It's meaning it that's not so easy.

Oh well, just wanted to be sure I did not step on any toes in the past few months. I guess Deano passing made me want to be sure I say the right thing to everyone which is pretty much I hope I have not ever hurt anyone. MG maybe it was Don I don't know, but the person who told me that told me that around the time I joined here, so it could have been a number of folks, Don included.

Just wanting to be sure I set things right if that makes any sense. No personal issues as of late, and wanting to wipe the slate clean if any hard feelings existed. Make any sense? Maybe I am still just a little raw around the edges .... and yes GI I am quite aware there is a cream for that.

Thanks for the kind words folks. Been a rough year. :D

By the way, for the grammar police I corrected my mistakes. Man that makes me miss Deano. :(

With all due respect to Ging, I just think she's quoting an incomplete quote/thought.
Something does not sound right about this.
I don't want to speak for Dan/Don or anyone else, but I think it is more
along the lines of posting your thoughts ...saying what you mean and
meaning what you say.
Not life in general. I happen to
agree w/that line of thinking ...if you don't mean it, why post it?!?
e.g. Ginger should never apologize for her christian beliefs and should not
care how many people are upset by it... Perhaps, Ginger will clear this up.

...............move away from the Gin bottle NOW!

I don't know what you are on about. But I always miss any fights.

All I know is you made nice pictures of us all from photos, and you always offer kind words, prayers and sympathy when we need a bit of support.

Not sure why you would need to say sorry for that.

And where IS Don anyway? And why did he change his screen name from Gunbot?

O.K. M.G. now I am confused.

I have been mad and said things in harsher tones than I ever would normally.

No, not apologizing for my Christianity, just for not being so Christian like in my responses at times? Is that what your driving at? Because that was what I was meaning.

I really don't know who quoted the "Never say your sorry" thing. It was a long while back. :D

No recent fights. Just making sure I have not stepped on toes in the past, and if I did, trying to make right. Is Don, Gunny? Seriously?

So, let me get things clear....

this thread was started by Gingy to get a conversation going because Michigan Girl wanted to be under Dave?

And have I just blown someone's secret identity?
If so, I'll delete it from my post and hope everyone else deletes my post from their own.

And I will slap my own legs.

Leg slapping =

back in the day when I was a child and parents couldn't be sent to jail for smacking their kids, if a child was naughty, their parents would give them a slap on the back of the legs below the knee.

And sometimes an actual slap wasn't necessary.
A parent would just warn the kid, "don't do that or I'll slap your legs."

And when G.I. Jim was naughty once, I told him off and said I would slap his legs if he carried on with the naughtiness.

Must be a Brit thing.

a smack on the back of the calf seems to sting a bit more.
It was rather effective until the Laws came in to prevent slapping ones kids.

I was a good girl of course and only witnessed that quaint British practice administered to other children, you understand.
