The "10 Fingers of Doom" performs the Star Spangled Banner at a Dallas Cowboys game in Jan of 2010. I realize this isn't new and hopefully it hasn't already been posted. He does some prittty nifty one-handed neck work in the middle of the song. I guess you could call this performance "A true American Classic playing a true American Classic".

Saw him a few times back in the day as well as once with Damn Yankees. The one that stands out though is the Wango Tango tour when he came swinging in on a vine dressed in only a loin cloth and after swinging back and forth for a few minutes, he opened the show with Great White Buffalo and proceeded to tear it up non-stop for almost 2 hours. One of the most underrated guitarists in my opinion. Yeah, he's opinionated and comes off as a huge smartass most of the time but the mother fucker can shred!

This version is better than Hendrix's. And your right The "NUGE" can shred with the best of them.

Back in the 70's and 80's there was always an announcer or "emcee" (usually one of the DJ's from the local station who was presenting the act...) that came out and welcomed everyone, announced upcoming shows, and then introduced the headliner. That has given way to simply killing the house lights and the stage music. One of the things I remember about the Nugent shows was it seemed more like you were about to see a WWF match than a concert with the intro Ted would get... "Alright San Francisco, make some noise and show some love for the Master of Disaster, the Motor City Madman, The 10 fingers of doom, the one, the only, Terrible Ted Nugeeeeeeennnnnntttttt!!" And of course the place would go ballistic as the spotlight would illuminate a tall lanky figure at center stage and Ted would immediately break into some wild-ass 5 minute face-melting shred-fest which segued into whatever the opening song was. He never disappointed and I always left the show pretty much deaf, nearly exhausted, and convinced I had just been in the presence of a deity.

Saw him with and without Derrick St. Holmes and I think he's better when he isn't handling both the guitar work and the vox. His leads are more intricate and longer. Just my opinion.

I love me some Ted, but I think he butchered the song here. He strayed too far from the melody, and it just sounded like a jumbled mess to me. I love Neal's version the best. He does change up the melody but in most places its all very melodic and works great together.

+1, however not as badly as yngwie malmsteen, which I saw on a related youtube link. At least Uncle Ted wasn't in high heals on a baseball field.

Man I miss the melodic Schon. That is what separated him from everyone else, not his chop-a-matic fret work.
