He said the album WILL kick. That doesn't imply that he knows any more about it than you do. :D

You know , we had our feuds here but I sent him a half a dozen of Europe songs via PM and he told me he thought they were a solid band with great musicians but he couldn't help to hate The Final Countdown. He said its a shame that a band as good as them were know mostly for " their shittiest song".

Man I miss that guy. It's still seems like he's just banned from here. :(

The quality of those two songs is for shit, but I think hearing the actual release will sound leaps and bounds over this! I really like both songs, as well as many of the clips. I have some seriously high hopes for this album, and I think it'll be the first real album I've liked of theirs since POP. I'm keeping my fingers AND toes crossed on this one. :D

You know, something that irks the hell out of me with this release is that I have yet to see a U.S. release date? WTH???

I'm sure you meant PIP , not POP ;)
Shirley needs to plan a real US release & tour !
Meanwhile you need to get " Damage Control" ;)

Damn... my bad!  I don't know why I was thinking "Prisoners of Paradise". And I agree about Shirley. I WILL have this album but I'll be damned if I'm going to pay for an import cd! :?

Ya, for whatever reason, there doesn't seem to be any label with a US branch wanting to release it yet, or the band hasn't tried to work with anyone. My guess is that it will ultimately end up on iTunes or their website and that's where we'll have to get it.

Which is utter bullshit! I don't want a low quality MP3. I want to open up a damn cd, peel that wrapper off (while smelling the new plastic smell), pop the cd in my player while I sit down and dig into the booklet. DAMMIT!!!

I love opening new cd releases. I love liner notes and positively have an orgasm (well, not literally) when there are anecdotes and/or commentary about each song. That is why I love the MR compilation releases that Andrew puts out.

I am looking forward to this new Europe release. The first single is really clicking for me.

Jim here is a link to a review of the new cd from Rock Guitar Daily. http://rockguitardaily.blogspot.com/201 ... rolls.html
I would agree that this cd does not fit the "melodic rock" mold, and since I prefer my rock with a harder more blues-based edge, like Black Country Communion, that's a big plus for me. I've asked Kevin Shirley when or if the cd's going to be released in the US, but I haven't received a reply. He's usually pretty good about answering my questions, so I'm guessing there is no deal for a US distributor yet.
