Peter Newkirk AKA Richard Dawson. Now, I believe only 3 are left living from Hogan's Heros. One the the top 10 greatest shows in tv history (Imho).

I used to watch this show when I was in 2nd and 3rd grades back in 74' and 75'. I never liked this show at all, but I think I was watching it only because I would watch the show before it and after it and they were all on the same channel back to back, so I would sit through it anyways. Not 100% sure why I didn't like the show. Probably because there were no hot chicks on the show, because I loved watching the old reruns of the Dick Van Dyke show because Mary Tyler Moore was one bad ass sexy momma in the 60's. Batman was another show that I liked cause he was always chasing Cat Woman around too. Gilligan's Island had Maryann. Hot chicks also would sometimes appear on The Monkeys. I liked that show too. Lost in Space had that older daughter chick who was blond, she was hot too! Ultra Man though was one of my favorites though cause there was one Japanese chick on there that was so hot, the best. But Hogan's Hero's....no hot chicks ever on that show, just that lard-ass Klink guy acting stupid along with that bony bald guy with the glass in one of his eyes, and a bunch of guys who were prisoners creeping around in hollowed out tree trunks and shit.

Yep, Hogan's Heroes was an old fave. And eventually, Family Feud, too. Oh well.

Btw, Bob Crane (Hogan) was found dead, strangled I think, body in an apt or some alley maybe. I remember that news, and then not too long ago, saw some biography thing about his career...married or so, kids, several other women/affairs, some bad personal deals, maybe coke, etc. Don't remember. But most of the HH cast is long gone. 'Schultz' heart attack. I remember an interview with Werner Klemperer, 'Col Klink', where he was grilled over being a Nazi Jew target at an early age, but later played a German Army Officer in Hollywood. He kept saying that while his heritage was important, all he was doing was being an actor. Seemed questionable, quite seriously, but somewhat understandable...that he was able to separate the two. Interesting...

Anyha, Richard Dawson...yeah, Running Man, et al. Loved his characters. Oh well, time & the ends of our times, grabs us all...eventually.

There was a second Kinch, don't know about him. Great show. I was a kid when it was on. I remember Germany taking a great offense to it because it made German officers look too stupid.

General Burkhalter..."Shut up Clink" or you'll be sent you to the Russian Front. Burkhalter was mystified by Stalag 13's perfect record, unable to make sense of it in combination with it's Kommandant frequently shown incompetence. And Burkhalter calling his wife "The highest authority in germany" whom he was scared shitless of. A lot of great characters in this show. General Burkhalter lived to be 97 years of age. Labau is now 87, wow!

Yeah, the deal with Bob Crane happened a very long time ago and I'm not sure if they ever found the perp or what really happened in that situation. And Richard Dawson in Running Man, that was the best I ever seen him in any movie. "I'll be back......Only in a rerun". Priceless.
