The lighting is not at its best on this photo. This was inspired by his song "Saltwater"
This is the reference photo I used.

The Sushi Hunter wrote:Well you can definitely draw. I sure can't. The last time I tried was during my senior year in high school back in the mid-80's. I was drawing the only thing that mattered to me at the time which was my Mexican girlfriend. It didn't turn out half bad though, but I was unable to complete her mouth and lips, so I just gave up and drew a flower blocking that part of her face, as though she was smelling a big rose. I never tried drawing anyone ever again.

Do you think Neal Schon learned guitar overnight? It is practice that makes perfect. I bet with patience you could have learned to do the lips....it isn't something you are born doing from the cradle. I think anything we want to learn we can learn with patience and perseverance. Now it does not mean we will be wonderful...but the key is to love what we do. Whatever that talent may be.

Portrait? Yes...One with freaky-looking creatures and forest animals? I'll pass.

I have done normal ones you know.
But I am a surrealist/illustrator. It is normal the way I draw. There are much more extreme artists than I am.
