Anybody else suck at playing a Wii?

My son has pointed out to me many times that the Wii is designed to be easier for "old" people to play. I'm 51, so I guess that qualifies me as old. I tried playing his Zelda Skyward Sword game tonight for the first time. All I can say is, I'm glad he wasn't home to laugh at me. I'd like to think that I'm not the only one that has issues with this kind of thing, but maybe I am.

I've been known to trip over my own feet, and when my brother brought over his Wii a few years ago, I nearly took out a lamp trying to play baseball. (He had the old style where you still needed to hang onto a mouse on a cord). Call me old, but sometimes I miss the good old arcades and Pac Man!

I don't play the games my kids play well at all. But we have a wonderful time trying. My kids love the fact that I play with them. Even now when they are 22 and 23 years old. We don't have a Wii, but a Playstation2, or a Nintendo 64 from their childhood is still a blast to play. I am improving with practice though.

Kids don't care that you play like a nerd, they want you to take interest in what they love to do.

Swing that Sword mom!

I totally suck at it. Especially at Guitar Hero which is weird cuz I can play. It's nothing like playing guitar though.

it's pretty much an equilizer - everyone sucks at it - to get good you end up looking like an idiot and nearly (and sometimes actually) throwing your controller at the TV...Kinect is pretty good, look fwd to the next generation of that tech with the next Xbox (due next year)

I've found myself using my Nintendo Wii more for the classic games than the newer ones. The Wii Sports games that came with the system are my favorite. About the only thing I play on that console is bowling & Tennis.

I played that fishing game against my newphews & ended up tossing the WII controller at the
tv too many times...
They made me quit before I broke the TV....I sucked  ....

You have no idea how happy I am to find out I'm not the only one who is Wii challenged.
