Movies that haven't come to be...

Postby Rick » Sat Jun 23, 2012 9:09 am

I was REALLY looking forward the Richard Pryor biopic. It was supposed to have been made a few years ago. Not sure what the tangles were with making it, but I understand they went through a few actors, firstly, Michael Epps, and last I heard was one of the Wayans brothers. Anyway, haven't heard anything about it in a while.

Forest Gump II. I'm a big fan of the first movie, as I completely identify with the simple mindedness of Forest, I'm sure, and there was, at one time, news that a sequel was being made. I heard there was some squabble between the writer and the studio, and that's the last I heard.

The Golden Compass. I really enjoyed the first one but alas, it suffered from a massive smear campaign from the righteous who complained that it promoted atheism. If Jesus ever does come back, I'm gonna bitch slap him just for that.

There a few that come to mind....

1) Seven. great thriller, Pitt didn't want to do another.

2) Mr & mrs. smith. I liked the first one, they say they are waiting for the right script.

Robocop VS The Terminator would've been a kick ass movie.

Jesus is born several times a day and comes back once a week for lawn care. Where have you been?

Hell, he even gets WIC, EBT and Section 8. He currently enjoys cheaper healthcare (or free) and probably enjoys more buying power than the average Bob.

Reminds me of the joke about the depressed guy driving down the highway and sees a billboard that says "Need help? Call Jesus!" and gives a phone number. The depressed guy figures what the heck, it sure couldn't hurt, so he calls the number and a vato with a lawn mower shows up.

Definitely Ghostbuster's III. I'm also bummed about Toto's new DVD that was supposed to come out. Apparently it won't, because Frontiers Records sucks assholes. :?

That's all because of the campaign donations of the 1%.

But in all seriousness, I totally agree with you regarding The Golden Compass. I'd love to see this trilogy finished.

I loved Dumb and Dumber, again, as I can relate to the characters on a personal level. Dumb and Dumberer I couldn't even watch, and as I understand, it was a "prequel". So I understood they were going to make a sequel to Dumb and Dumber with Carrey and Daniels, called "Dumb and Dumber To". Evidently that's being shitcanned as well.

Seven - can't top it. WHY does everything need to have a sequal. LAZY ASS HOLLYWOOD!

Smith - let's pray there isn't a sequel to that.

Only 'cuz Carrey has walked away. The Farrelly Bros are game. The script is by the same folks who wrote Hot Tub Time Machine. It was supposed to start filming in 2 months or so.

There is a very recent video of Murray commenting on this on a late night talk show I believe. Saw it only a week ago. Ivan Reitman also had some comments.

Thanks a lot. I clicked on that to find out what it was, and it turns out to be gay porn.

Seriously. Do women even want to see that??? It just looks like cheap porn to me. I know that since I'm a straight guy it might not mean much to women that are into male strippers, but nothing looks gayer to me than male strippers. That movie just looks like glorified porn for women and gay men.

Gay porn? It's all in fun, dude. Unclench a little and lighten up. If I was a guy posting a T&A clip you wouldn't even have responded. Nothing wrong with a fun girls night out.......and definitely nothing wrong with a movie of guys with nice physiques like Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey who know how to dance/move their body. LOL, with all the action and T&A comedies they release, nice to see Hollywood throw a bone, so to speak, to some women movie goers. LOL I hear there's actually even a story to the film.

Deb, I wasn't trying to insult you. :)

I was just saying I don't understand how women can find male stripping to be sexy. It just looks gay to me. I know I'm gonna catch some flack for saying this, but IMO stripteases should only be done by women. Hell, even a lot of straight women realize that the female body is sexier than the male body. To me that movie is absolute bottom of the barrel.

For the record, back when the movie "Showgirls" was in theaters, a bunch of people that I knew suggested that we go see it. And I kept thinking I can't believe that I'm wasting my money on this crap while I was watching it.

You're entitled to your opinion just as I, so I disagree with that. But I will say there IS a fine line for both sexes, if they don't know what they're doing, men can come across more cheesy than sexy, just as women can come across more slutty than sexy. LOL we are coming from two different planets (Venus and Mars  ), it's funny how most women can admit they think some woman is sexy or has a nice body, but gawd forbid a man be comfortable enough in his own skin to admit the same.

LOL Rick's right, it's a chick thing.......most of the gals in the office want to see it too. Just as men think a female's body can be sexy, watching a guy with a great physique who knows how to move his body to a great song can be very sexy, partly a music thing too. For all I know the actors' moves will be cheesy, unless they trained, as I think the only one who has any dancing background is Channing. But who cares, it's a fun night out with the girls and if Matthew McConnaughey wants to bare those abs and cute little tush on stage, who am I to look away.
