Yes. But I think I was more sad when Don Knotts died. I think he made that show.

I don't know. That show had a lot of characters that made the show. From Floyd, Gomer, Barney, Otis, shit that show was great. Andy Griffith, RIP Sheriff Andy Taylor.

You make a good point also. BTW, most people didn't know this.......

Despite starring on two of the most iconic series in TV history, “The Andy Griffith Show” and “Matlock,” Andy Griffith shockingly never earned a single Emmy nomination for either show. By contrast, his “Andy Griffith” co-star Don Knotts took home five Emmys for his supporting role as bumbling deputy Barney Fife.

Here's the weird thing about Andy dying today (and I swear to God I'm not making this up...) This morning, my wife and I were sitting in the garage smoking a cigarette and partly watching (mostly not watching) Matlock and bitching about the fact that aside from infomercials, religious programming and the early morning local news, Matlock is the only other thing on at that time of morning. A couple of minutes later, I asked my wife, "Is he still alive or did he die already?" She didn't have a clue but couldn't remember hearing about him dying.
About 2 hours later I launched the local paper's website and the very first thing I see is a huge headline which read, "REMEMBERING ANDY GRIFFITH. DEAD AT 86". to which I immediately said out loud, "No fucking way!" which is exactly what my wife said (well, she didn't include the "fucking" part).
What a trip!
