Anyone on here do this as a hobby? have been into HO scale for a while but with my limited space am thinking of going to N scale. Looking for ideas pros cons etc . Pm me if you are

Cost is the biggest con. Prepare to spend a friggin fortune, depending on how extravagant you go of course.

My 4yr old son is obsessed with Trains. Luckily he is still on the cheap "Brio" kind of stuff. Not lucking forward to the $$$ that I will be spending in the future if his obsession continues. The true model trains are freaking expensive. But, a kid could have alot worst hobbies.

Well i already have a 12x18 layout just cant se it up all rooms too small and over 200 engines and cars and tons of stuff for building layout may just do 2 smaller layouts then

Loved all things urban transit related since a wee lad. But no space or money to do anything still :(

Want to with my boys, but like I said....restrictions!

I gpot some space ( not as much as I would like :cry: ) but I have the other stuff I will get it up for my kid cause she loves trains

Had a huge (imo) layout, 4 plywood sheets at 8 X 4. HO Scale. Lost it all in Katrina. Some engines and cars, buildings were from the 70's. Remember TYCO?
Had a lot fun with it. If Insurance would have givin me any type of money I might have come back with more.
Still buy a model railroad mag every once in a while, and go into a hobby shop to look around.
