One of my favorite musicians, Jon Lord, formerly of Deep Purple, passed away today from pancreatic cancer at the age of 71. He certainly lived a full life but it's still sad.

Damn, that sucks!! He recorded some great solo albums apart from Purple. The first track on Before I Forget is a burner! R.I.P. Jon.

Damn. 71 is longer than some of my relatives have lived, but I wouldn't go so far as saying it was a "full life" like it would be if someone were in their mid to high 80s or even their 90s. Not in today's day and age. Anyway, awesome organ player. RIP.

71 is a pretty full life...In the industrialized world, people on average live into their mid 70s to early 80s. 71 is pretty much right in that range considering most folks are on either side of the average.

RIP Jon. The Hammond organ is my other favorite instrument (guitar being first)and he and Gregg were always my favorite keyboard players.

RIP John. I was hoping he would live a longer life. He has recently moved into composing Classical pieces which are quite good. Wanted to see how he progressed with his new career
