Pretty good mentor of youth and a great human being. As a kid I thought he was a gangster who also sang. Wierd, huh?
I love this interview. I really got something out of it. I hope you do too.

He USED to be able to back in the day. Unfortunately, he suffered debilitating damage to his throat caused by an illness which I can't remember the specifics of at the moment.....
I said the same thing the first time I heard him sing back in the late 70's while still living at home. He was singing I Left My Heart.... and I remember my mom almost being in tears and saying what a shame it was to hear him then after how beautifully he used to sing. That's when she told me the story of what happened. His voice may not be crystal clear and as beautiful as an angel's but he can still deliver the heart and soul of the songs he sings with room to spare!
