2002 Honda Accord EX V-6 2dr

So it goes:

2 owner car. No accidents, clean car fax, if you care to run it. You will find no finer example of this year Accord. It is in pristine condition. This is the much sought after EX 2dr coupe. It has a 3 liter V-6 and it comes loaded with leather interior, factory CD changer, power moon roof, power seat, cruise control, power windows, power door locks and automatic transmission. Everything works and the A/C blows cold! Near perfect body and original gold paint with tan leather interior. Plenty of Toyo tires left, as well as great brakes. I have all keys and keyless entry fobs, as well as the owner's manual. It is freshly serviced, detailed and ready for you to drive it home. Miles are original 78k.

*This is not and has never been a kid's car. It is unmolested; It does not contain any “fart pipes” is not “slammed” has original alloy wheels, no bolt on “cheesy ground effects kits” or any “gay spoilers”. Only interested in selling it to someone who will keep it that way and not turn it into an example of cheap trailer trash or other type thuggery.

$9800 firm. Go consult the book value, then throw the book away. You can't find this car in this condition with this mileage, so if you are looking for a bargain basement price, spare us both the time. Good luck on getting a $2k premium on a used car in a depressed economy... after you've pissed off some potential buyers by telling the you'll pre-qualify them based on how they'll take care of your car, after they buy it from you.....

Hello and welcome to the obvious. I wrote that as a joke to my wife.

I actuality, it's just an average car in ok condition.

I like the part about the "fart pipes" and the "gay spoiler."

In all seriousness, the used car market is pretty hot. Based on my own recent experiences buying a car, I think at least some of the luxury dealers (if not the regular dealers) are breaking even on their trade-ins in hopes of selling a higher margin car to a buyer. I know you sell cars, so maybe it's not feasible for you (i.e., you buy/drive cars from your dealership), but have you shopped around for a dealer trade-in? Out here, the prices are good and you save the transactional costs and headaches of doing a private deal.

The car may be worth that much to you, but a bank or credit union won't finance it for anyone because the asking price is well over the blue book value. People with that amount of money or more in their savings don't tend to want to pay for something that doesn't come with a warrantee. So you're probably only going to attract people who need to have it financed. And that is a problem since the bank or credit unions won't finance it unless the person taking out the loan puts up collateral. The car can't be used as collateral for the simple fact that if the person who's buying the car defaults on their loan, the bank or credit union will take a loss when trying to resell the car after it's been repossessed.

Who the heck is lining up for two door cars? Maybe the under 21 crowd? I don't know what your real price is, but if it's anywhere close to $10K, you're nuts! I'm a bit of a car guy (owned more than 100 cars in my life) and it's virtually impossible to ever sell any vehicle for anything close to "book value". Also, try getting anything close to what the "book" says for "trade in value" at any dealer. WILL NOT HAPPEN! The only time you'll get close to "book value" is if you have a very rare and hard to find car. Accords and Camrys are a dime a dozen. At any given time, there are probably more Accords for sale on eBay than any other model.

Yeah a ten year old car that is not considered a sports car, classic muscle car, or limited production car is going to be a bit difficult to sell for close to $10K for sure.
