Wow, Mickey Thomas singing Jane from march 2012. Holy crap.. The guy is 62 and sounds no different at all. Original key even. This guy did a great cover of DSB I heard once.

I saw Mickey along with Bobby Kimble open for Foreigner back in 2009. Thomas has lost a little bit but that only makes him sound more like Steve Perry of the Escape era which isn't a bad thing.

Dio, although no longer with us, was still sounding pretty damn good at 67!

God, remember when we were kids and thought about someone who was 67? They were dinosaurs in our eyes and we certainly never envisioned someone that age onstage bringing it like they were still thirty-something!

We've lost him but Ronnie James Dio was pretty amazing near 70.

Hell, I hope MY buttt looks as good as Cronin's does when I'm 61!

Wait.... you meant "butt" as in "however". You weren't talking about.....

Shit!

Can't believe no one's mentioned Rolie. At 65 he sounds damn good. Watched a video recently of one of the Journey tribute bands playing live and Rolie happened to be in the audience and joined the band for one of his songs and he sounded exactly the same as he did back in the late 70's.

Just watched this vid. His voice is still sharp and crisp. I was blown away at 1:47 when he held "...you've conquered the world and MOOOOOOOOOORE" for 25 seconds without losing and projection in his volume nor did his voice get pitchy. Wow!

Tommy Shaw won't officially be 60 until Sept. 11th  he's close enough and of everyone listed so far, his voice is probably the most intact.

I love Dennis DeYoung's voice. Steven Tyler still sounds good in some clips I've heard as well.

Ahem still got one more year before he turns the big 6-0. I'm probably in the minority but the whole
more thing is one of the few things dennis does that annoys me.
Not being a fan of his songwriting in the later years doesn't help either. Thank the lord tommy got in the band when he did.

Dear ole Phil is sounding kinda thin these days. Still a pleasant voice, but a lack of power is evident.

Here's a guy with some power left, but his timing and ability to sing in key has gone to shit.

DOH!! You're right. Tommy's only 58. Can't count today for some reason.
I'm not a big fan of the "mooooooore" thing either. It comes off, to me anyways, as showboating and DDY has no need to showboat - ever - especially given the fact that he not only can but does still bring it every bit as good today as he did when the songs were made famous.

Tommy definitely kept the band grounded and focused on the things that made STYX Styx. Kilroy was a glimpse at what could and probably would have become of the band's venture and direction had TS not threatened to walk if the "Broadway theatrics" which were slowly working their way into their live performances didn't stop. There's an interview out there with TS and JY in which both are very candid (Tommy more than JY) about the Kilroy days and how disgusted they were with the whole costume B.S. and the making of the Mr. Roboto video.
