the contrast between the 2 elections was enlightening. the democratic base is absolutely fired up! i found it sad that president w bush was not included as a speaker. it says a lot about a party/admin that did not include an appearance by w, a still vibrant former president. i've learned they had a video presentation, but i find that chickenshit.

bill clinton laid it all out so well. so simple. joe biden, well, i've always loved him. i am proud to say obama/biden have my vote. i like being able to make my own choices for my body. i like my friends and family members to have the same rights as all citezens have. i like the thought that the middle class has a chance of surviving, that public education will continue, that college can be affordable, and that we will finally get out of this bloody war.

things have been shit. i don't know anyone that hasn't been touched by the horrendous economy, but i am seeing light, change and yes, hope.

Do you realize the war has gone FAR worse under Obama's leadership than under Bush's? The lowest amount of casualties in a year under Obama are higher than the highest number in a year under Bush, easily. Regardless, I agree. If I could give Obama some advice I would tell him to use the power of the Executive Order to his advantage. If congress can't come to an agreement of a piece of his legislation then go around them and sign an Executive Order authorizing said piece of legislation. Force their hand and make congress take action.

Thank God for that! Private business almost always runs things better than big government ever has. I don't get the opposition to vouchers by Democrats since it would more easily enable lower income families to send their kids to the schools of their choice. As it is now, only rich families or those making more sacrifices than they ought to have to, can afford to send their kids to private school. You'd think the Democrats, who are supposed to be for the plight of the poor, would be on the opposite side of this issue if it weren't for the fact that they're in bed with the teacher's unions.

For those with interpretive reading difficulties, I never said it was Obama's fault. I was simply making a comparison. During Bush's term in office, those casualty numbers were parroted in the media ad infinitum and were often blamed on the President. I have not seen that done since the day Obama took office. My statement was about how the media treated the same story between the two Presidents, not that war casualties are the fault of any one office holder.

For myself, I'm glad someone's obstructed Obama's agenda even though it means little legislation is being done. We've already got hundreds of thousands if not millions of laws on the books, most of which no one is even aware of.
