Who are the richest lead singers in the world? The vocalists on this list have sung for bands like The Beatles, Metallica, Guns N’ Roses and The Rolling Stones to name a few. But which lead singer is also the lead money maker? There’s no better job on the planet than being the front man/woman for a major rock band. Not only do lead singers get most of the glory, attention, accolades and groupies… they also make a TON of money. As we compiled the list below, we learned that if you want to make a huge fortune as a lead singer, it definitely helps if you also happen to be a prolific song writer. Furthermore, it doesn’t hurt that these top earners have been in some of the most famous bands in music history with 30+ year careers touring stadiums all over the world and selling millions upon millions of records. The fact that many of the richest lead singers are still performing today is a testament to their talent (or maybe they just love making millions of dollars and getting showered with adulation). Oh, and even if you don’t have an amazing voice, there’s still a ton of money to be made in a band as we learned with our list of the richest drummers in the world. But for today we are going to take a look at the richest lead singers, did your favorite artists make that cut?
***The figures contained in this list were acquired from all publicly available information including salaries, real estate holdings, divorces, record sales, royalties and endorsements. The final net worths come from a formula that takes out taxes, manager’s fees, agents’ fees, and lifestyle.***

I remember back in the early 90's when Bowie was very close to the top of that list and had actually opened his own bank. No shit! It was The Bank of Bowie somewhere over there. Can't remember the complete details about it but it was the topic of conv. amongst musicians for a while. And Sir Paul..... well.... it must be nice to make nearly $50M per year without getting out of bed just on royalties!

I'll try and step it up and provide some comic light in the absence of the big man.

Just like with the drummer list, this is bullshit. If it's not a Forbes money list it doesn't mean a thing.

Arnel Pineda, 15 million?

Going by Billboard, Journey's made around 80 million dollars touring the last five years and that's before taxes, management, and paying the roadies.Out of the possible 30 million left you are telling me Pineda got half of it?

Garbage site.

I didn't read that. Where was that figure posted for Arnel? For as successful of a touring band as Journey is, that would be 3 mil a year. Not that far fetched for a key player, but I don't believe that figure either. I doubt he gets paid less than half that figure per year, but 3m is a bit far fetched. Take whatever Neal, Jon, Ross and Deen earn per year and multiply that figure by? I suspect AP, Neal and Jon make more than Ross and Deen. Nothing to do with where Arnel lives, but his value to the Journey machine. Net worth, however is quite variable, as there are living expenses, charities, ex wives, etc.

Well....... if memory serves, (and I'm going solely by memory here and can not furnish any kind of link or verification whatsoever to back this up so, it is what it is....) he was hired with a 2-year contract which guaranteed him $500K total: $175K the first year and the remainder the 2nd year. However, the annual meeting took place when AP was only 18 or 19 months into his contract and since all things financial are decided upon and all monies are settled at said meeting, the decision was made to make him a full member of the band thereby usurping the original contract and guaranteeing him an equal share - 1/5 - of the revenue earned from touring and album sales on which he participated AFTER Revelation due to it being all but completed and awaiting just vocals when he joined the band.
Like I said, I can't provide any kind of proof or verification but that's the way I heard/read the news which came from an extremely reliable and knowledgeable source.
So the formula here is to take whatever the profits work out to be and divide them by 5 and you've got AP's earnings since early in 2009.

I think you've got that right, Steve. Now if we knew the bottom line figure here, I'd still gamble that AP makes less than Manny Pacquiao.
I'd also take the bet that he makes more than you or me. LOL

70% is a low margin. The markup on the beer would be more of an indicator of their take. A Bud Light 24 sells for $11 to $13, depending on venue. These guys take about 1.2m per concert season, individually, would be my SWAG. :D

I'd bet you'd be close... don't forget Don's number was 80M over 5 years.. so that reduces the per year amount..

I'm also assuming the 80M doesn't include merch.. so I'm sure their take is a bit higher...

If Azoff was a Mormon, their profits would be greatly reduced. ;)

It's quite possible that the list was generated using limited information, meaning, they got a list that didn't have everyone on it. They are basing this rich list on only the data that they received and not the overall data from all musicians. Sort of interesting to me anyways how Vince Neil is worth more than Steve Perry though. I would have bet it was the other way around. And where is Richard Starkey? You know he's got to be worth more than 15M.

Ringo is the leader in the World Richest drummers list at $300 Million.

It's from the same source as the singer list. Unless the numbers are coming from Forbes, they have no merit.

Where's Klaus Meine and Henley? They've each got to be worth more than the bottom 10 on that list. And Brett Michaels, Cronin, DeYoung, Shaw, Benatar, Ann Wilson..... Yeah, this list was obviously compiled by someone who didn't do a very good job of researching the data.

Richest Lead Singers, I get it. He did some singing while in the Beatles but his best singing was when he went on and did:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATQ9KcELAJQ

As for the list, there are so many that are not there that I think if it was accurate, they would be. Air Supply and even the Pet Shop Boys must have some net worth built up, unless I've missed them on the list.

This list is total, complete fiction. The above statement is ridiculously absurd.

Really, the guys who run a celebrity blog have a formula to deduct taxes, manager's fees, agent's fees, and lifestyle? This information is publicly available? I'd love to find the public information on what Jack White's "salary" is or how much Eddie Vedder spends in lifestyle expenses.

The information for the top few in this list is readily available because the superrich guys like Bono and Mick Jagger are from time to time going to be in the news because of how very well off they are (ie, Sammy Hagar's sale of his tequila or Bono's Facebook investment).

The rest of this list is literally a writer just named as many lead singers as they could think of off the top of their head and then arranged it in some order that they thought may make sense, and assigned a descending dollar figure to all the names.

These sites only exist to drive traffic to their domains and sell advertising, which they can make a lot of money doing.
