Lou Gramm on the upswing...

He may no longer have the tenor voice, but recent concert clips show Lou sounding powerful and in command of his instrument.
There's a certain vitality and spark in this performance that has been lacking. Looks like a great show.

I was curious how the Foreigner board was faring and this was a nice surprise. Thanks for the links.

The vid audio isn't very good but Lou still shines through.

I watched all the clips...Big LG fan...In his prime I considered him one the the best rock singers ever. It's good to see him out performing live.

Honestly though... Lou is almost a shell of his former self vocally. It's tough to go through all he's gone through and sound anything like the old Lou. It's clear that Kelly Hansen is the right guy for the job in Foreigner these days, he sounds more like the old Lou Gramm. It's a similar situation in some ways to the Journey/Steve Perry/Arnel Pineda situation. Except Perry doesn't perform anymore so we don't know what his voice really sounds like today.

Again, really good to see Lou out performing and he has just as much right to be doing these songs a MJ. What I realize is that when I go to see bands from my era these days, I don't go in thinking that I'm gonna here the same level of vocals as 20 or 30 years ago... I go for the enjoyment and the nostalgia. Lots of big names still put butts in the seats even though they sound...uh..."less than stellar".... The Stones, Rod Stewart, McCartney, Van Halen etc...
